When it comes down to it, Activate is a group of musicians with too many influences for their own good. Evan Chambers (guitars/vocals) and Byron Chambers (bass) kicked around a few projects with drummer Eric Mazden after the demise of their previous project. Activate as we know it came into itself at the end of 2005 with the addition of guitarist Andrew Smith. With Evan tired of being the lead vocalist by this point, Tracy Gerlach was brought in for a short stint as the front-woman before being stricken with the "I need to get out Saskatchewan" disease which has plagued the province for many years. A new singer was found in Cody Wilkinson, who also brought his keyboard skills to the table. With the line-up complete, Activate basically started from scratch. Tired of being tied down to a single genre, the band adapted to the attitude of "if it sounds good, do it." The result being a refreshing mixture of all different kinds of sounds and styles. When hearing Activate, don't be surprised to be taken from prog rock to blues, around to some jazz, and down to some southern rock/country. With Activate, there's a little bit of something for everyone.
Activate is:
Cody Wilkinson - Keyboards / Vocals
Evan Chambers - Guitars / Vocals
Andrew Smith - Guitars
Byron Chambers - Bass / Symphonic Fuzz Bass
Eric Mazden - Drums

Hey guys! Deadry show last night! The new song "Genocide of the Human Race" (or Cock & Balls as Rheta said it's called) was wicked! Thanks for the ride in the Activate Ambulance Evan! It was so much fun! Oh, and you're quite the dancer Evan, even with a guitar on. RAWK! Carry on, my wayward sons!
Hey thanks for the ride in the activate-mobile, I'm pretty sure that was the best thing that's ever happened to me. The only thing that could have made it better is a zombie invasion, but I won't hold that against you.
You guys also kicked major ass last night, so thanks for a good time all around!
Yes tunes!!!! I had that song in my head yesterday. Wish I could see you guys on Friday...but it's Lipton Grad. You guys are awesome! I'll email you some pictures from the show at the gaslight the other weekend.
