KIDS, TEENAGERS & PARENTS WORKING TOGETHER FOR THE FUTURE OF OUR COMMUNITY
Active motivation was founded by a few teenagers wanting to build a skate park in Hazel Park. The city said the funds needed were not available and they would have to raise them themselves.
Thus, Active Motivation was created.
We are currently working on raising money for a much-needed Skatepark for skateboarders, bicyclists and skaters.
We are always looking for volunteers, donations and new sponsors to help with fundraisers, raise awareness and help at risk kids and continue to better the Hazel Park community.
The skatepark is just one of the projects being pursued at this time.
The main goal though, is just to help kids and families.
To help kids, give them emotional support, build self esteem, teach them they need to work hard for what they want, encourage them to stay in school, stay off drugs, be contributing citizens of society, to work and pursue their dreams.
To name just a few...here are some things accomplished in
2005:
A temporary skatepark was constructed to give the kids a safe place to play.
Over $2000 was raised through a skate competition, a $100 was awarded to the winner, other prizes were a bike and helmets. There was a huge turnout for the competition!
A local neighborhood park was cleaned up and restored in June of '05.
And, in winter of 2005, we had operation SnowBlitz,
Hazel Park senior citizens got their snow shoveled by Active Motivation volunteers.
We are currently planning our next event.
Cleaning up our community, helping it's citizens and teaching our children to be kind, generous and successful adults reaps rich rewards!
Not only do we know we are doing our best as parents, adults, in molding tomorrow's leaders but children who have these programs tend to finish high school, go on to college, become assets to their community.
Vandalism and juvenile delinquency is substancially reduced.
