Music
All of the good stuff, none of the crap.
I like to get quiet and meditate and if a song pops in my head I'll listen to that CD until I'm sick of it.
Lately it's been the Beatles but tomorrow... Who knows?
I use music a lot for acting work. I'm a "meisner actor" and I use music to facilitate emotional fantasies for what Meisner actors call "emotional preparation"
BTW, I am so thankful for music which have inspired many story and script ideas.
I love to be turned onto new music and LOVE great music in general from opera to rap, though some rap sucks and some opera sucks as well.
Movies
"American Beauty" is perhaps my favorite ever. Sideways, Shawshank, Graduate, School of Rock, Gods and Monsters, King of Comedy... were the first to come to mind which doesn't make them the best.
Anything that can make me laugh or cry. How's that for general?
Television
Sopranos. Sopranos. Sopranos. I Love Lucy. Get Smart.
Books
I wish I had time to read fiction.
I don't really read when I am in writing mode.
But when I do...
Armistead Maupin's series
Hemingway's "The Sun Also Rises"
Marquez's "One Hundred Years of Solitude"
Salinger's "Catcher in the Rye"
Vonnegut: most of his work because of his humanity themes but most especially "Blue Beard"
For non-fiction I love Joseph Campbell's work on mythology.
Heroes
My dad who I miss dearly.
My mom who is the sweetest person I know.
My best friend Fang. She has taught me so much.
Brave people in gereral.
I guess I feel I need to really know a person before I make them a hero.
Thanks so much for coming Steve! I really enjoyed meeting your girlfriend too, she's a sweetheart! No worries about the wine ... honestly ... it took me 5 minutes to touch up with paint!! My friend Cheryl (in my top 20 friends) swears she recognizes Katy! ;)

Some say that the butterfly represents the spirit or the essence of the individual: the soul. Butterflies are generally symbols of transformation because they go through a metamorphosis. They are beautiful, evasive, and, at times, inspiring.
"We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit." ~Albert Schweitzer
"The unthankful heart... discovers no mercies; but let the thankful heart sweep through the day and, as the magnet finds the iron, so it will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings! " ~Henry Ward Beecher
Thank you for the kindness of your friendship. I am blessed & honored. Happy Thanksgiving my friend! Katie
