I love to hike, hunt, camp, go to the beach...pretty much anything outdoors.
I love spending time with my wife and daughter and friends here in Port Arthur and hanging with my long distance friends when they come to visit us in here, or when we go to Houston or Dallas to see them.

Movies
I love movies made from comics! The X-men series, Dare Devil, Electra, Fantastic Four Series, Spiderman series, and others.
Some other movies I have enjoyed are the Harry Potter series, The Island, A Beautiful Mind, Chronicles of Narnia, the Star Wars series, Click, Big Daddy, Bruce Almighty, Happy Feet and many, many more!
Some of my favorite "chick flicks" are Everafter, 50 first dates (I am a huge Drew Barrymore fan), Hope Floats, City of Angels, Sleepless in Seattle, and others.
Television
Some of my favorite shows are House, CSI Miami, CSI New York, CSI (The Original), The Closer, Smallville, Heroes, Cold Case, Numbers...as you can tell, I really like detective/mystery type shows!
Books
Of course, one of my favorite books is the Bible!
Some of my other favorite books are: Blue Like Jazz, The Ragamuffin Gospel...
And some of my favorite authors include: C.S. Lewis, Henri Nouwen, Brennan Manning, Len Sweet, Brian McClaren...
Heroes
The true heroes in my life are those people and organizations that are having a transformative impact on the world. One of those that I am currently working with through sponsoring a child is Compassion International.
Compassion's purpose is to release children from poverty in Jesus' name. One of the ways that this is done is through sponsorship. Erica and I sponsor a young boy named Ronald from Haiti. Through sponsorship we help with food, clothing, and education costs for Ronald and his community. We get to keep in regular touch with Ronald with pictures and letters and have had the blessing of watching him grow over the past three years. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I graduated from Langham Creek High School, received an Associates of Arts from Houston Community College, a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston and a Masters of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University.
I am currently serving as the pastor of two United Methodist Churches in Southeast Texas (I am the sole pastor at Aldersgate Trinity UMC and the associate pastor at UM Temple).

Our very first child, a beautiful baby girl, was born on August 7th, of 2007 at 4:58 a.m. weighing in at 8 pounds 1 ounce and measuring 18.5 inches long. We think she is absolutely adorable.
