| General | Creative writing, poetry, prose, memoirs, fiction, non-fiction, blogs, and even hip-hop. | | Music | At the writers centre we listen to mostly easy listening, but some of us also love punk music, hip-hop, urban, heavy metal, and even classical. | | Movies | Movies about writers like: Sylvia, Wonder Boys, Deconstructing Harry, Sideways, The Singing Detective, Pandaemonium, Before Night Falls, Henry and June, Finding Neverland, and Wilde. | | Television | "Words" and "First Tuesday Book Club" on the ABC. But we miss shows like "Critical Mass", that used to be brilliant! | | Books | Mostly books on Creative Theory such as: Your Writing Coach, Writing Fast, 13 Ways of Looking at the Novel. These books and more can be found in our library at the Writers Centre. You can become a member and borrow them for free or even just read them in the old comfortable chair. Check out the pics were we are sitting in the library. | | Heroes | Writers, readers, poets, hip-hop artists, punk rockers, the beats, and authors. J.K. Rowling. |

About me:
Well, we offer writing workshops, seminars, newsletter, access to computers and printers, a resource library, free meeting space for members, advice and referral. We also hold occasional projects like master-classes, mentorships, author talks, fundraising activities, collaboration with other literary organisations and assorted other activities. We also refer writers and editors for employment.
We currently have over 940 members - made up of editors, authors, poets, children's writers, journalists, literary groups such as the ACT Playwrights, Canberra Speculative Fiction Guild, Closet Poets, etc.
