Not averse to a bit of Melvins, Bjork, Crosby Stills & Nash, Rolling Stones, Radiohead, Byrds, Ben Harper, Jeff Buckley, Cream, Leonard Cohen, Faith No More, Beck, Kyuss, Jesus Lizard, Mark Lanegan, Nick Drake, Pixies, Deep Purple, Fugazi, Opeth, King Crimson, Tom Waits and Helmet too...and of course kiwi music.
Books
Yes, and lots: Camus, Orwell, Woolf, Lovecraft, Tolkein, Bulgakov, Mirbeau, Kafka, Poe, Fowles, Banville, duMaurier, Huxley, Austen, Herbert, and I love collecting books about historical figures, egyptology, and of course, art.
Heroes
Some of my favourite artists are: Beksinski, Giger, Lempicka, Kahlo, Gauguin, Bacon, Lautrec, Klimt, Bosch, Escher, Dali, Byrne-Jones, Mucha...can’t think of any more right now. Quite partial to pre-raphaelite, art nouveau, high renaissance, ancient egyptian, roman and greek art...
And Bill Hicks is my hero too. He makes me laugh so.

Artist's Statement: "Since childhood I have had a love for the fantastic and the imaginary – I enjoy depicting the real and the unreal together, things turning into other things, the unusual engaged with the everyday. However macabre some of my creatures may seem, they still have a whimsical quality – it's important to me that people can see the humour in my work."
