I have the body of a human and the head of a human, but not the same human.
I have always loved and appreciated jazz, especially the older stuff. Even when I was a teenage metal-head, I was listening to Louis Armstrong, playing jazz trombone, and seeing Les Paul on Monday nights at Fat Tuesdays.
When I heard Django Reinhardt, whom Les Paul had played with, I fell madly for Django’s playful, spontaneous, liberated, and inventive style.
Now I'm lucky enough to be playing hot swing with these guys. We call ourselves Baro Swing for some reason.
My only musical aspiration is to sound like myself. I have been playing guitar since this morning. HEROES:
Musically - Django Reinhardt, Bach, and Bob Marley. Philosophically - Joseph Campbell and any dog with three legs.
