Roadtrip, anyone? I dare you to move...like someone dared me.
Oh label showcases, how I love thee. NYC.NYC.NYC.NYC.NYC.
Occasionally, there comes a time when molds need to be broken, where convention gives way to expansion, and something new and exciting is born. In a world of bubble-gum pop melodies and shallow lyrical routines, one artist is pounding the walls of the box and pushing them completely over. He is a mover and a shaker. He is a force to be reckoned with. His name is Adam Ilami, leader of the rock n’ roll revolution, and he’s beating down your door, demanding to be heard. I suggest you listen.
Born and raised in Arlington, Texas, Adam has been destined for musical creativity since an early age. Naturally gifted with musical inclinations, he sharpened his skills within the context of a very encouraging and supportive musical family. Both his mother and sister spent time in various touring musical groups while his father instilled in him the principle of pursuing your passion. And, if there’s one word to describe Ilami, it’s passionate. By age 14, he had already established an instrumental foundation having taught himself to play drums, piano, and guitar, and began his journey of self-expression in the world of songwriting. He has said that he believes his purpose as a songwriter is “to take important facets of the world that surrounds all of us, and to portray them in a new light that is both easily understandable and relatable by all.” It’s because of this vision that you will find yourself in his songs and singing at the top of your lungs, no matter who you are or where you’re coming from.
A child of ambition, Ilami has made the stage his home since age 4, performing all across the country. With already nearly 20 years of experience on his side, he has developed into one of the most captivating and dynamic young artists in rock music today. Having diligently studied the likes of such exuberant performers as Elvis Presley, Bono, and The Beatles among others, both his confidence and comfort on stage are well beyond his years. This is not a pop tart. This is not a clever marketing scheme. This is a rock n’ roll republic by the people, for the people. This is change, and change is good. This is Adam Ilami.
It was my pleasure to add "Dare To Dream" to my Internet radio playlist (playing independent music commercial-free 24x7) and introduced it on my weekly podcast found at http://indiemusicsampler.com/2009/11/13/ims-158/
