    i know what you mean. i was listening to Soviet Kitsch today, and i realized that that album might be my favorite of hers. It's a good balance of quirk and polish, without being too much of either. I like the new album lyrically a lot, but i don't like the production in some places. it feels like some of it might get dated quickly. the pitchfork review definitely had some good points.
