Greetings friends and welcome to Adam Joy Music here at Myspace.com!
Adam started on the piano at the young age of 6 under private tuition in his home town of Halesowen. From here he worked his way up through ABRSM classical piano examinations up until he was 15. However towards the end of this period he began to become segregated from classical piano and was leaning towards the jazz influences of Herbie Hancock & Chick Corea. This was just the beginning of what makes up Adam's wide, varied and diverse repertoire today.
After completeing A Level courses, he embarked on a course of Jazz Piano at the prestigous Birmingham Conservatoire, having one to one tuition with well respected jazz pianists Liam Noble and Hans Koller. Here he could feel that his feet weren't fully planted in jazz, but were growing into other genres of music, particulary R'n'B, Soul & Musical Theatre.
Today Adam is in great demand as a Musical Director, Rehearsal Accompanist & Session Musician for a variety of musicals/shows/gigs/studio sessions. His theatre credits include "The Full Monty" (WBOS Musical Director, Lichfield Garrick 2005), "The Witches of Eastwick" (WBOS Keys 1 - Wolverhampton Grand 2006, Midlands Amateur Premiere) and "Jekyll & Hyde" (WBOS Musical Director, Lichfield Garrick 2006) to which WBOS received the NODA West Midlands Best Production Award 2006 District 8
