General
TATTOOING! OIL PAINTING! Wood Carving, A variety of art forms (high brow and low brow) Erika , music, movies, being with friends and family, traveling, going to burning man, bowling, competing in the Punk Rock Bowling Tournament every year in Vegas, weight lifting, poker, sushi, shooting guns, paintball, creature effects, Tiki culture, Scandinavian culture (I wish I was a viking),eating good food, meeting good people. Thats what I'm into mostly. I'm an art geek. I have been drawing since my earliest memories, and oil painting since high school. I love it. I tattoo fulltime at Art and Soul Tattoo, Co. I like hanging out and watching movies with my girl. Erikas a badass artist so its cool when we paint or draw at the same time in our own worlds , then we take breaks and get feedback from each other. I'm not into the bar thing like I was a few years ago. If I'm at a bar, there better be a stage or a blackjack/poker table nearby. I also dont give a shit about most sports anymore. Yeah, I like weight lifting and being athletic, but for the most part your average jock is an asshole. Not all of them though. I like individual sports better. Preferably the ones that encourage drinking.
Music
I'm really into Rockabilly and punk rock. I listen to a variety of music though. Anything from mellow to heavy. I wont list everything I like, but I will list some of the crap I cant stand. I'm not into modern rap AT ALL. Hey, I dont give a shit how many "rides" and "bitches" you have. Save your blingbling for someone who cares. And then most pop music is bad too. Pop country.... pop rock. Its bad. If you listen to it.... stop. Please? thanks.
Movies
Star Wars and a bunch of other similar movies that kept me single in high school. Anything smart, funny, bloody, dark. I'm a hitchcock, tarentino, Tim Burton kind of guy. I love a variety of movies, but I dont want to list them all. If its a good movie, its a good movie. I could be here for days listing what I like.
Television
There are a few pretty good shows out there. I like Robot Chicken, The Sopranos, some random shows on Discovery. History channel. I'm trying to stop watching tv all together. I'm focusing more on my art and TV is the biggest distraction EVER. I'd rather have some music on.
Books
I love books that are art related. My books need to have them purdy pictures or have to be about something I like. I'm not really into reading novels. I'd rather paint. The last book I read was called "Illusions:the adventures of a reluctant messiah". That was just a cool book, and was fast reading. I recommend it to anyone who doubts their abilitys. It will change your perspective.
Heroes
My parents (awesome people. Could'nt have picked better parents) , Erika (shes all around wonderful), my Grandpa Ed (for being the nicest and most hard working guy I know) and my Grandpa Fred (for being the toughest SOB I knew), anybody selfmade, firefighters and the armed forces, Wolverine, and Jedi knights
About me:
Art & Soul Tattoo Co. TM I'm a tattooist/painter/illustrator currently living in Los Angeles, CA with my awesome girlfriend Erika. I'm from Northern Virginia originally. Erika was doing a tattooing guest spot in DC for a week and she and I met at a Reverend Horton Heat show at the 9:30club in DC. We dated while she was in town and found that we had alot in common. Summer 2002 I moved across the country to sunny LA. Its been great. Best decision I ever made. A little scary at first but it keeps getting better. I started out bouncing at the Troubadour for the first year. I broke my foot there once and then reinjured the same bone a month after I went back to work. THat was my tipoff to do work that doesnt require tackling. In August 2003, I officially started my tattoo apprenticeship. I have a fine art background which definitely helped out alot even though its an EXTREMELY difficult and unforgivable medium to learn. (check out my stuff at www.adamkilssart.com) Much respect to all of you awesome tattooists out there who never gave up. I aspire to be like you guys. This stuff aint easy. Do not try it at home kids! I work fulltime at Art and Soul Tattoo,Co. and I come back to Virginia a couple of times a year to visit people and tattoo. So hit me up if you're in the DC area and want to know when I'll be back. Anyways. Thats the current "About Me". I'm a mellow guy. I dont hold a grudge. I like being quiet and learning from people. I'm loyal to friends and family. Personally, I can tolerate someones B.S. to a certain extent. I usually ignore it though and blow that person off. But if you threaten my friends or family, you'll see the veins in my head up close. And if you start shit at our shop, I'm gonna go viking on yo ass. :)
Who I'd like to meet: Good people. Non asshole-ish types. Michelangelo , Dali, Escher , Da Vinci , Picasso, Rembrandt along with alot of the other great masters. Mark Ryden, Michael Hussar, Brom , Robert Williams, along with a long list of other great, modern painters. My great grandfather Heinrich (built ships, sailed around the world more than once, was tattooed, bare knuckle fighter, did brilliant woodwork). Hitchcock, Burton and a handful of my other favorite directors. Ummm... gotta say the Reverend Horton Heat since he's the reason I'm living on the west coast.

I've been good. I just got my car back from the shop. It was being fixed on for like two weeks because this guy hit me while I was working. My car was parked and this guy was trying to park and read a map at the same time..nice work. Also, on monday I went to Grand Rapids for work. Only there for a day, but it was fun. Have fun in Denmark
