Adam Kowalczyk has grown to recognize different sides of the music business and the touring industry. Supporting one of Rock n’ Roll’s most respected frontmen and since 1999, he has toured playing rhythm guitar and singing background for the rock group LIVE. and has also performed as a studio musician on their releases entitled, “The Distance to Here” “V” “Awake-The Best of Live” “Radiant Sea” and "LIVE at the Paradiso."
Fronting his own band, Adam and the Weight, his debut CD ‘Looking Up from the Ground’ (2003) was nominated for ‘Independent Pop Album of the Year’ by the LA Music Awards and received an Honorable Mention at the ‘The International Songwriting Competition 2004’ for the song “Never Good at Fighting.” "The Ocean" had found a home on MTV's "Laguna Beach". In 2005 he recorded his follow-up solo independent release, “The Dream EP” which contains 12 compelling songs including the single "All Night" an acoustic track with R&B tones (think Maxwell meets Tom Petty) about a man's desire to be everything to a woman but wanting very little in return. "The Dream EP" reflects about his life and times in Los Angeles and his experiences on the road in an attempt to take the audience on a ride like the old days of an LP. Recorded in Lancaster, PA, co-produced by Adam Kontis at Moontree Studios, consider “The Dream EP” to represent more of a chapter in a heartfelt book of many to come.
Currently working on his next release, a mixture of hard rock and alternative rock, out in 2010...and fresh home from his first solo European tour of Holland & Prague, we think the wheels are just getting started to turn! Jump on board!!!
