A person needs new experiences. They jar something deep inside allowing him to grow. Without change something sleeps inside us and seldom awakens. The sleeper must awaken

This list desperately needs expansion. I'm working on it. :)
Music
I like a strange mix of things these days, so I'll just mention what is getting played on my iPod the most these days. Marillion, They Might Be Giants, The Presidents of the United States of America, Godsmack, Emimen, Seals & Croft, Jonathan Coulton, Paul & Storm, George Kamikawa, the soundtrack to Jesus Christ, Superstar, and Gogol Bordello (Gypsy Punk?! What's not to like?). How's that for a mix. :)

What's not to love?), Criminal Minds, The Showbiz Show.

I'm 38 and live in Durham, NC. I'm a technophile and have been since about age 10. I love technology and computers specifically from the early 80s (my first home computer was a TI-99/4 c. 1983), to today. I'm currently a Systems Engineer for a storage company. Beyond that, I'm a sports junkie, starting with the NFL (I'm a huge Oakland Raiders fan), secondarily the Durham Bulls (the local AAA baseball team), and the Carolina Hurricanes.
On the personal side, I try to find the humor in everything. No topic is forbidden. As Carlos Mencia says "If you aren't laughing, you aren't living". My sense of humor is essential to me and it runs from the witty to the silly and absurd. I believe that puns are a wonderful art form. The louder the groan, the better the joke.
Here's an example of something that cracks me up everytime I see it.
Here's one more
Here's a great song about MySpace (i.e. Don't take it too seriously)
On a more serious, philosophical side:
I wake up every day with the realization that I will end this day different than when I started it. I believe that everything is ultimately temporary. The secret to happiness in this life is to embrace your current experience, appreciate it to the fullest (whether it's enjoying something happy or wallowing in something sad), then let it go and be open to the next moment. I believe that the more you try to fight this, the more miserable you will be. Savor each moment, then let it go because the next one is just around the corner.
While I don't always live up to this ideal, I've made it a standard to which I strive. I live for new experiences, good, bad, or indifferent.
Who I'd like to meet: As many people as possible. Famous or not. It doesn't matter. I don't assume that because I may admire someone's work that it means I'd like the person.
