Adam Vincent's Comedian Bio
|
| Bio | Adam Vincent started his comedy career in Adelaide back in 1996. After competing in the national final of Triple J’s Raw Comedy, he decided to move to Melbourne.
With his goal of becoming a more versatile performer in mind Adam started experimenting with his craft.
In 2000 he wrote the play ’Ronny Jr The Illegitimate Son’ and performed it in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. That same year Adam was national runner up in the semi professional Green Faces comedy competition. This followed a six month stint as the resident emcee of the original King Of The Ring at Melbourne’s old Comedy Palace. Playing the Son of Ronald MacDonald was a risky change but not as risky as Adam’s next show, Two Comedians:$15, The Chance to throw Tomatoes: Pricele$$. Yes Adam encouraged the audience to throw Tomatoes! Looking for something new Adam joined a local Impro troupe that performed every Sunday night for 5 years.
In 2004 Adam left for the United Kingdom touring up and down England, Scotland and Wales where he honed his craft in front of international audiences, helping him create his universal appeal. In 2007 he was chosen by America’s NBC to represent Australia in the comedy series Last Comic Standing. He has since been working on his stage show 'Adam Vincent in Adamland' for the 2009 Melbourne International Comedy festival where his is being produced By Adam Hills' new production company Dick The Horse. | | Website | <style type="text/css"> | | Influences | Zach Galifianakis, Steve Martin, Barry Humphries, Richard Pryor, Garry McDonald, Ellen Degeneres, Bill Hicks, Woody Allen and young parents who struggled to cope. | | Members |

Adam Vincent's Interests
|
| General | I really enjoy writing and walking... thought in general. The flip side of that is I'm getting into meditation which involves me calming all that thought down. I enjoy movies and reading and holidays. I like a coffee and the news paper. I don't trust what is written in the paper but I do enjoy the process. I'm interested in all the exciting things that I'm yet to discover and all the fears I can potentially lose. I'm interested in you... not the small talk you or the you who pretends to be someone else... I'm interested in the you who can step back from all of that and laugh. | | Music | I can't afford an i pod so I have to put myself on random. Whatever I'm singing, that's what I like. | | Movies | Empire of the Sun, The Dark Crystal, The Goonies, Stand By Me, The note book (yeah I cried), Mad Max 1 & 2, and so many more that to write them all would be kind of stupid. | | Television | Less and less | | Books | I'm currently reading A Short History Of The World by Geoffrey Blainey. | | Heroes | Anyone who has used some weird mode of transport to travel around Australia raising money for charity. I love those guys. The weird ones who make long journeys interesting. |

Adam Vincent's Blurbs |
About me:
I'm happy, I'm fun, I wear suits because I want to seem successful. My mum says I'm neurotic, my girl friend thinks I'm a petulant child and I probably wouldn't be doing comedy if I could find a decent father figure.
|
Who I'd like to meet:
The tribesman who first discovered language... without them I'd be a mime... they need thanking.
