Sounds Like
A crazy mix of brass and horns colliding with a stack of rubber chickens and ducks, with balloons and bubbles flying everywhere, underpinned by great grooves ffrom the ever-faithful rhythm section.
The Adam Simmons Toy Band is a feast for your eyes and ears. Comprising of some of Melbourne's most talented young jazz players, the Adam Simmons Toy Band is an eccentric eight-piece ensemble which utilises different toys - such as rubber chickens, origami frogs, spinning tops, balloons, whistles and animal masks - alongside a traditional line-up of bass, drums, and horns - to gleefully create madcap performances of inspired, musical mayhem.
The band's focus is on original music with an irreverent sense of humour, the toys adding not only new sounds to the mix but creating a dash of theatrics and creative lunacy.
The Toy Band have performed at all manner of festivals - St Kilda Festival, Meredith Music Festival, Melbourne International Arts Festival, Wangaratta Jazz and Blues Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Queenscliff Music Festival and Eureka 150 - Echoes of Freedom.

Hey Adam! I am a Simmons too with aspirations to start an orchestra of small instruments. HOW WEIRD. I read about your band in the paper yesterday and thought the coincidence was too bizarre. Hoping to catch your show in Footscray. Let me know if you have any other gigs coming up.
