I play the guitar, bass, drums and percussion, trumpet, tuba, and a slew of many others; and am excellent at all of them (well, I don't suck at 'em). MUSIC IS MY LIFE, AND MY GREATEST TALENT. I'm one of the few people involved in "the scene" that isn't a complete asshole, which means that I get shit all the time. I'm old in "the scene" (whatever that is today), but a relatively young age. I'm GUILTYxPLEASURExFREE. I don't hold back my interests or desires, and I don't really get embarrassed. I love Italian cuisine. I've been a vegetarian for 11 years.
I DON'T DRINK ALCOHOL, I DON'T SMOKE TOBACCO, and I DON'T DO DRUGS. That's it though. Yes, I'm Straight Edge, but NO, I'M NOT A MONK, I'M NOT A KRISHNA, I'M NOT CELIBATE. Got it? I LOVE COFFEE, I LOVE PEPSI, I LOVE WOMEN and I'M SEXUALLY ACTIVE (but not a whore).

"COERCION, WHY WE LISTEN TO WHAT 'THEY' SAY" by Douglas Rushkoff. Great book that tells you about nearly all of the things in society that control us, and we may not even know. "WAY OF THE PEACEFUL WARRIOR" by Dan Millman. My psychiatrist recommended this book for me. when I was in therapy after a real bad break-up. A very good read. Right now, I'm reading DEBORAH HARRY by Catherine Che. I like theme books, or photography books: "HARDCORE CALIFORNIA", "SUICIDE GIRLS", "SPIRIT OF 69" and such. I also read a lot of magazines. "RAZORCAKE", "UNDER THE VOLCANO", "AP", "PUNK PLANET", "REVOLVER", "SPIN", "MRR", "PUNK ROCK CONFIDENTIAL", "BLENDER". It’s like the daily newspaper for me, just more expensive.

Okay, well I'M A MUSICIAN. I play a slew of different instruments, and am damn good at all of them. I’ve been into underground music, and such for about 13 years, starting sometime in the 3rd grade (1991-1992’ish). I would continue to get fucked with big time for years to come. My Mother played mostly soul, reggae, beat, and new-wave music in the car and in the house since I was a baby. She fought Multiple Sclerosis for 11 years, starting in 1991. She’s the rudest and raddest (R.I.P 1954-2002. Love you so much mommy!). I was raised by my Father alone from age 11 to 17. The only escape I had from the chaos at home, and the distress at school was a Nintendo, a cassette player, and a guitar (and a bike that could get me to shows).
I’ve been in and out of bands since I was 11 (no, seriously). The first show I played was the first show I went to. I played drums in a hardcore band called “Battle Ball” with my brother, Eli; which later changed its name to "HIGHxPOINTE", I played bass, then eventually became a filler bassist, and then a roadie of sorts. The members would later go on to "The Phobics", "NC Punchout", and "The First Step".
I played in a crusty popish punk band called “The Pathetics” in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It was a helluva lot of fun. We played the school talent show, and murdered! Nobody ended up being the winner, thanks to us. Just my luck I suppose. I’ve always been an unsung hero of sorts.
I also played bass for "NC Punchout" when we started with my best friend "James Only" and I. I sang for a Vandals-like band called Even Steven in Norfolk VA for a bit, then I settled in ATLANTA (which is my first real hometown).
I've worked as a bouncer in nightclubs, a musician, a DJ, a soldier, and a photographer for shows, and other different events and projects. I’ve traveled nearly all over the world since I was born, and have met both fascinating, and no-so-fascinating people. I am, and have been a part of many different cultures. I don’t really have a heritage, or a single home base. The East Coast United States is my home, although I’ve called many places around the globe as such; home is basically where I kick off my Adidas’.
The spit, shit, lies, discrimination, denial, neglect, bullshit, and heartbreak from others, for a span of 17 out of 23 years have made me callused, bitter, and angry. At the same time, it’s made me smarter, sharper, more aware, conscious of myself, and the things around me; to the point where I can enjoy my life like you wouldn’t believe, and can see through all the nonsense in my way. I get super happy!! “YOU CAN’T KEEP ME FROM THE PARTY! I AM THE PARTY!” At the same time, I've been fighting a serious bout of depression since September of 2005 due to the fall of a serious relationship. Love and relationships are like booze to an alcoholic. It's bad for my health, but I can't stay away... I guess.
I’m pretty much a solo musician now. I’ve grown so damned sick of dealing with other people who can’t, or don’t want to do anything. (15 years of bullshit and failure is a bit too much). I could probably stand to do it again, if people would just simmer down, and wise up.
Finally, some fun little facts. I DON'T DRINK ALCOHOL. I DON'T SMOKE, and I DON'T DO DRUGS AT ALL. THAT'S IT! DO NOT CONFUSE ME WITH ANY NEW-SCHOOL HARDLINE GUY. I DO DRINK COFFEE, and I DO HAVE SEX. I’ve been a vegetarian for over 11 years. I’m big on honesty, unity, loyalty, and respect. I’m not big on stereotypes, bullshit, discrimination, shady behavior, and the like.
Those are my choices and beliefs. Don’t worry though; I don’t press them on others. If you don’t share, or don’t agree with my values, it’s totally okay. They don’t make me an asshole, prick, snob, tough-guy, or anything like that. Pretty much the same values I've had since I was a little boy. No flexing involved.
Well, I'm guilty pleasure free, I suppose. I'm not too cool to admit that I like something, and not afraid to say when I don't. I'm not a collector, a fan, . I'm all about reality, and what's going on today, and learning from the past, and all that shit. Stay sharp, and keep to the street! I do me, and not for the benefit for anything or anyone else, blah blah...
