"No man is born into the World a Master, and for that reason are we obliged to learn. He who applieth himself
thereunto, and studieth, learneth; and a man can have no more shameful and evil title than that of being an Ignorant person." - from The Sacred Magic of Abramelin the Mage, Book I
The most important things to me in life are: my family, my friends, books, Chinese food, musicals, ale, dancing, puzzles, tattoos, tarot cards, BBC, horror movies, occultism, philosophy, music, science fiction, old Abbott and Costello skits, parapsychology, human anatomy and physiology, pin-up girls, karaoke, and Doctor Who.

All horror especially Asian horror, sci-fi, fantasy, movies by Rob Zombie, John Waters, Kevin Smith, Tod Browning, Tim Burton, Mel Brooks, Quentin Tarintino, and David Lynch.

The Corpse Bride
Star Wars
The Producers
Repo! The Genetic Opera
Nightmare Before Christmas
Kill Bill

I like big, epic movies with lots of action, musicals, little independant dramas, and kitzchy B cult classics. I also like documentaries, including Religulous and Supersize Me. I am of the opinion that ANY bad or mediocre movie can be made better by adding a zombie.

Mr. Bean
Monty Python's Flying Circus
Catherine Tate Show
Life on Mars (original)
Hell's Kitchen

Courage the Cowardly Dog
Dexter's Lab
The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.

Heroes
Anyone who is told: "You can't do that" and responds with: "Watch me". Anyone who sees reality as a challenge to be overcome. Those with the imagination and the perseverence to bend reality with their will. Those with passion and drive, those who learn for the sake of learning. My biggest inspiration is myself: my failures and my successes shape me and motivate me.
When I was little, my heroes were Lily Munster, Morticia Addams, Samantha Stevens, and Jeannie. Is it any surprise that I am a housewife who studies the occult?
About me: "Magick is the pursuit of an unknown quarry. Like those adventurers who seek the Abominable Snowman the magician has only the vaguest idea of the nature of his prey but he is sustained, like them, by the excitement of the chase." - Phil Hine
"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." - Hamlet
"O wonder!
How many goodly creatures are there here!
How beautious mankind is!
O brave new world
That has such people in't."
- The Tempest
Stay-at-home mother, tarot reader, Occultist, self-proclaimed chaotic philosopher, Discordian Pope and Saint, ordained ULC minister, eater of sushi, Karaoke Queen, Lady of Air in the greatest damned coven in San Antonio, cage dancer, devourer of books, Whovian, highest of powers, researcher with a short attention span, fountain of useless (and useful) knowledge, grammar nazi, gemini, gamer, fangirl, elitist, lover of the obscure, sense of humor like the Sahara desert, deadeye with a gun, pervy ten fancier, wine and coffee snob, horror fanatic, over-emotional conspiracy theorist.
When I'm awake, I'm doing something. During the week, I'm cooking, cleaning, and taking care of my younglings. This is a full time job, because I have a daughter who is a budding scientist and violinist, another who is a future actress, and a son who likes to get into trouble just to see if he can charm his way out of it. I'm not one of those soccer moms who insists that her children be active 24/7, but if they have interests I will allow them to pursue them (as long as their grades don't suffer).
After the kids are in bed and the work is done, Mama gets to pretend to be Alistair Crowley. This is when I study until my head either tries to explode or I fall asleep at the keyboard. Whichever comes first. Ceremonial magic is my big thing right now, although Discordianism, Chaos, Satanism, and tarot are usually among my favorite subjects. Anything related to magic and the occult is pretty much my life. Fortunately, I have a husband who is very patient and understanding. When I go on a rant, he is kind enough to nod in the appropriate places and throw in an "oh really?" when I pause for breath. He's also kind enough to keep his thoughts (laughter) to himself when I'm screaming at the altar in Enochian.
On the weekend when I'm not trying to get errands run, I'm doing coven stuff. This is a huge chunk of my life, it means so much to me. I never thought I'd see myself as the coven type, but it's nice to have a conversation with people about the occult that doesn't result in a blank stare. Jade Wolf is the greatest group of women on the planet and I am honored to be one of the founders and members of the best coven in San Antonio.
My philosophy in life is best represented by several things including: Cerridwen, Anton LaVey, Richard Dawkins, Celtic mythology, poetry, the Flying Spaghetti Monster, Eris, curiosity, too much science fiction, Paganism, alcohol, being a mother, an overactive imagination, new age claptrap, old age claptrap, Kwan Yin, William Shakespeare, the good people at Jonesboro Discordia, my observations of human nature, my observations of the multiverse, good food, good music, and really good strippers. I've learned as much, if not more, about life and religion and philosophy from fiction as I have from non-fiction.
"How does newness come into the world? How is it born? Of what fusions, translations, conjoinings is it made? How does it survive, extreme and dangerous as it is? What compromises, what deals, what betrayals of its secret nature must it make to stave off the wrecking crew, the extermninating angel, the guillotine? Is birth always a fall? Do angels have wings? Can men fly?" - Salman Rushdie (Satanic Verses)
THE SITH CODE
Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.
THE LAW OF THE PACK
Defend the Pack. Respect the elders.
Teach the young. Cooperate: know your role.
Hunt when you must, play when you can, rest in between.
Devour your enemies. Leave your mark. Voice your feelings.
"What a piece of work is a man! How noble in reason! how infinite in faculty! in form, in moving, how express and admirable! in action how like an angel! in apprehension how like a god! the beauty of the world! the paragon of animals!" - Hamlet
..
Who I'd like to meet:
I neither entertain masochists nor suffer fools gladly. If you are either of the above, don't waste your time contacting me. Then again, if you fall under either category, you are probably blissfully unaware of your lesser attributes so you will likely contact me anyway. Hell, you're probably not even reading this right now because you're either illiterate or lazy in which case I'm wasting my breath.
"Realize your youth while you have it. Don't squander the gold of your days, listening to the tedious, trying to improve the hopeless failure, or giving away your life to the ignorant, the common, and the vulgar, which are the aims, the false ideals, of our age. Live! Live the wonderful life that is in you! Let nothing be lost upon you. Be always searching for new sensations. Be afraid of nothing." - Oscar Wilde (the Picture of Dorian Gray)
"Tell me one last thing," said Harry, "Is this real? Or has this been happening inside my head?"..."Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean it is not real?" - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but, actually, from a non-linear non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff." - The Doctor (Blink)
"...when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth" - Sherlock Holmes (The Sign of Four)
"So this is hell. I'd never have believed it. You remember all we were told about the torture-chambers, the fire and brimstone, the "burning marl." Old wives' tales! There's no need for red-hot pokers. HELL IS--OTHER PEOPLE!" - Jean Paul Sartre (No Exit)
"I have had few friends in my life, and if I live a thousand years, I suspect that this will remain true. There is little to lament in this fact, though, for those who have called me friend have been persons of great character and have enriched my existence" - Drizzt "Exile"
"All my life, I was my own person. The choices I made, I made of my own free will. I was never held in thrall by anyone or anything; not even the Queen of Darkness herself! Bow to others in reverence and respect, but never in slavery..." - Raistlin
"There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in." - Leonard Cohen
"Don’t change color to match the walls. Look like you belong and the walls will change color to match you." —Kender proverb
