About me:

My name is Amy, but sometimes I go days and days without actually hearing my name. I'm too liberal on some things and I'm too conservative on others, and I can't explain it, but it makes sense to me. I was a teacher in my former life. I sang rock songs to my babies instead of lullabies. My favorite Sunday afternoon guilty pleasure is http://postsecret.blogspot.com/. I have a uni-brow that I struggle to keep under control. I’m too cheap to pay $4.04 (excluding tip) for a Starbucks’ grande vanilla latte, but I’d give my firstborn for one right now. My favorite book is and always will be “Love Story” by Erich Segal. I’m a redhead, and yes, it IS true what they say about us. I can “shoot a bird” with my left foot. I think the following people deserve special awards for their contribution to mankind: Mr. Clean for inventing his Magic Eraser sponge, Ray Kroc for introducing the world to Chicken McNuggets, Jim Barton & Mike Ramsay for inventing TiVo, and Momofuku Ando for bringing us Ramen Noodles. “Fat guy in a little coat” (Chris Farley, Tommy Boy) cracks me up every-single-time. I’m an insomniac. My kids will remember my lap as being soft, not bony. When it rains I feel like the world is at its best. My husband of 8 years still writes me love letters (and I keep them). I find a strange inner peace in doing laundry. I don’t do scary movies. It took a cone-headed baby boy on a January evening a few years back to make me understand the term “love at first sight”. I can’t tolerate people who can’t/won’t be authentic. I thrive on change. If I could go back and do it all again, I would be a geneticist. I love, love, love spicy food. Yes, I have “daddy issues”; who from my generation doesn’t? I actually cracked a rib from laughing too hard once. I believe that time really does heal all wounds. I love it when my kids fight over me. And last but not least, I could never live without my Reach Access flosser, my camera or chapstick. Or baby wipes. Thank God for baby wipes.
