Music
There is not enough room on this website to list all the music I like. I'll keep it short:
Marillion, Saga, Alan Parsons Project, Outkast, Ludacris, Tangerine Dream, David Arkenstone, Supertramp, Moody Blues, Cat Stevens, Mike Oldfield, Jean-Michel Jarre, Bryan Ferry (drool), Rush, Beggars Opera (the ones with Ricky Gardiner), George Gershwin, Arturo Sandoval (YES!), Abba (I admit that any day without blushing), Jennifer Rush (no voice like hers), Classic music of any kind, Opera (hey, I sang once in Don Carlo as an extra), Lonestar (surprise!), ethnic music, and on and on. I love music.
Movies
All Spielbergs, Star Wars, Action Adventure, Biography, Thrillers, Crime Drama, Harold & Maude, Shogun, the Fisher King, Tears of the Sun, K-Pax, The Pianist, King of the Mask, Blood in blood out, The Neverending Story, I'll add more as I'll remember...
Television
I'm not particularly big with TV. When I watch and get to choose, then it'll be on what I call a "Pyramid Channel". What do I mean by that? It's any of the educational programs and I just never can get my fill of these. My husband hates it and keeps telling me how he can't stand to look at another pyramid. Hence the name.
But really, I do absolutely not do sitcoms and such. However, I enjoy all of the CSIs and I can't miss an episode of Criminal Minds for Thomas Gibson, Joe Mantegna and Shemar Moore.
Books
On the light side, I really love Carl Hiaasen (of course), James Hall (absolutely adore his work), David Ramus (please write more), our local Frank Cerabino (what a cutie), Michael Crichton, Hans Dominik and Rainer Erler (both german writers), and coffee table books.
In the middle I truly love educational, non-fiction books and everything Jon Krakauer, documentaries, some biographies and good novels. Absolutely not romance and non of the schmaltzy pseudo dramas that are often popular.
On the heavy side I like to be challenged. Philosophy from every corner of the world, I wish I could live a million years just to absorb all of these books. Max Frisch, Goethe, Lao Tse, Sun Tzu, just to name a few.
Heroes
My grandparents, my parents, my husband, my son.
All people who stick their neck out to be kind and help others, doing good deeds. Whether on a small scale and in a very anonymous way or in a more publicized accomplishment, it doesn't matter. Everybody who puts pride in their job every day, everybody who tries to make life a little easier for others, everybody who has the courage to stand up for the right thing is my hero.
Those who are more famous: Mohandas Gandhi, his Holiness the Dalai Lama, Paul Rusesabagina, Percy Ross, Mother Theresa, Oskar Schindler and many more.

... We'll enter your dedication into the Journal
A
Bead…ü
...destined
to be a messenger of love and peace. Once maybe worn by an ancient one, it
now embellishes the string that someday will go around the world.
On its journey through times and places it symbolizes a
person, cherished and lovingly remembered by another.
It rests peacefully next to a bead of a different color, a
different shape and origin.
Love and Peace, can it
be accomplished and maintained by mankind?
Imagine
The Dream become reality at last!

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
