In the past year, ADDER has written and produced songs that have earned recognition on internet hard rock charts and played numerous live shows creating a continuously increasing fan base and becoming a force in the Southern Ontario hard music scene.
Best known for their live performances ADDER blends the power of an arena rock sound and hooks with the energy and intensity of their metal influences. Melodic, bass driven beats give way to loud, shredding guitars. This creation provides fans with a powerful groove and melodies to sing along with while being deceptively heavy.
Coming from Hamilton, ON, ADDER surfaced in February 2007 as the re-emergence of the former members of BLACK ADDER. With Jon Yeomans on vocals and guitars, Shawn Seguin on guitars, Ryan Cannon on bass and Randy Walker on drums, they quickly got to work writing and performing.
In October 2007 ADDER recorded a four track demo and released the tracks “New Lay” and “And I See” on international internet music chart garageband.com. Both songs received excellent reviews and coincidently both songs climbed to a high of 53 at different points of February 2008 out of over 9400 songs in the Hard Rock category. Each song received numerous awards including best vocals, guitars, bass, drums, production, song of the day and many more. “And I See” also went on to receive the 9th best bass ranking in the Hard Rock category.
ADDER tracked 3 more songs in March 2008 at the famous Grant Avenue Studios and released the three new songs in April on their myspace page
In April 2008 ADDER decided to replace Randy Walker on drums bringing in Steve James, a ferocious young talent to drive the beat of the band. The technical ability of Steve behind the kit will allow for ADDER to grow even further musically.
ADDER’s influences are wide ranging across all genres of hard rock and multiple decades. From bands such as Pantera, Metallica, B.L.S., Killswitch Engage to the classic rock of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Aerosmith to Alice In Chains, and Stone Sour.
