KeV Bass Fiend - bass guitar, vocals
DaN electro - drums New member and instrument revealed December 17...!!
Influences
Many influences, not necessarily who we sound like -
Rancid
Specials
Crass
Inner Terrestrials
Nirvana
Sex Pistols
Madness
Lawnmower Deth
Motorhead
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Jimi Hendrix
AC/DC
Iron Maiden
and general Punk/Thrash/Ska/Indie types
Sounds Like
Well, we've been told we sound like a Jam/Rancid hybrid which is good, and recently we were told we sound like a Madness/Clash hybrid so also good. We generally have 3 distinct sounds to our songs which are either Punk, Ska, or Thrash - sometimes they blend in one song, sometimes they're kept seperate. The best likeness is probably Rancid/Inner T for our Ska stuff, anything from 77 (Pistols, Clash, Jam) for our Punk stuff, and Discharge/Crass for our Thrash stuff.
About Addictive pHilosopHy - comeback gig December 17!!
Yes!! We're well ready for next weeks comeback gig and we're now taking bookings for 2010, we're gonna be busier than ever, plus recording planned soon...!!
***********COMEBACK SHOW - TICKET DISCOUNT***********
(see Paypal below this text and above poster...)
On December 17 we'll be revealing our newest member, new instrument, and new sound. It's not that different, just a bit different. We're lucky enough to be doing this at Derby's best venue supporting a bunch of bands we fucking love!! As such, we're trying to offer tickets at a slightly reduced rate - because of the quantity of bands playing at the gig, and the costs involved for the venue, we've agreed with The Bell, that if we sell at normal rate (£8) we can then look at a discount based on the number of tickets we sell - more sold, more discount - we'll then refund you the difference. We'll sell at face value £8 AND cover postage (it'd help if you know us to get them from us, we're trying to save everyone money here!!) - the only other way to get tickets this cheap is direct from the venue. If you buy online elsewhere you need to pay booking fee and postage. If you're concerned about us ripping you off, just ask anyone who knows us, and how we operated sales and giveaways for things like Surface Unsigned - in fact, yeah - if you buy tickets, comment us too so everyone else can see it's all good!! So there we go, use this button to buy tickets...
PLEASE HELP YOURSELF TO A NICE FLASHY BANNER - COPY THE TEXT FROM THE BOX AND PASTE IT INTO YOUR PROFILE - VOILA!!
GO TO THE PLAYER AND LISTEN - THERE'S 5 MASTERED TUNES FROM THE FORTHCOMING ALBUM AS WELL AS ONE FROM THE FIRST ALBUM AND YOU CAN DOWNLOAD SUPERNATURAL RACE FIEND AND STRENGTH FOR FREE!! (If the MySpace player isn't letting you download them, just comment or message us with your email address and we'll send them you!!)
This is us playing our skank along Burning Heart - for more videos, click here
We're a band playing a range of original music from mellow rocksteady to full throttle thrash, but mainly levelling out in the Ska/Punk area - think Rancid, Specials, Inner Terrestrials and Crass, but as far and wide as The Paragons to Discharge. Check our lyrics page out for what we're about - we say what we think and we're not shy about it!
We've shared a stage with literally hundreds of bands already but most notably;
The Skints
UK Subs
Ed Tudor-Pole
Buzzcocks
Stranglers
Dr & The Medics
Paul Carter
John Otway
Highliners
Asian Dub Foundation
Random Hand
Eureka Machines
Moral Dilemma
Eastfield
and many many more...!!
All gigs are full of energy, from a solo acoustic set to a full band explosion, there's no point coming to our gigs unless you wanna burn off some energy - we hate boring audiences, luckily we can generally kick up enough fuss to get people moving!!
We play anywhere, we're not afraid to travel, we've been up and down the country - Scooter Rallies are a particular fave and we can be easily bribed to play cheap at them, just ask Sticky Rock, Can't Start Won't Start, Yorkshire Scooter Alliance, Huddersfield Scooter Club, Odd Mod Squad for a start.
There's a rumour going round that we do covers and are available to do these for functions, weddings, bar mitzvah's etc. This is true - the covers range from 50's Rock 'n Roll to simple 90's Rock, with a heavy dose of ska/reggae thrown in. But be warned, we're not a tribute act, we play our versions of those covers and are only for genuine fans of punk, ska, etc - they're fucking awesome, but only if you like that kinda thing - we take most of our function bookings from recommendations, ask for details...
So that's us - we're a straight forward band, we turn up, we play loud and fast, we're not complicated, and we're cheap!! Probably the cheapest Scooterist band in the world...
This is our finest hour...
We rehearse and record at this place because it's ace, and erm, oh yeah, we own it...!!
We're the house band at The Bell for FULL BAND OPEN MIC. Just bring yer guitar, bass, drumsticks - all the amps and gear is set up through full MASSIVE PA...be warned, it's not like a normal Open Mic - we get 150 people and a mosh pit at this one, so get down!!
