Influences
Many influences, not necessarily who we sound like -
Nirvana
Sex Pistols
Madness
Lawnmower Deth
Motorhead
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Jimi Hendrix
AC/DC
Iron Maiden
Smiths
and general Punk/Thrash/Ska/Indie types
Sounds Like
Well, we've been told we sound like a Jam/Rancid hybrid which is good, and recently we were told we sound like a Madness/Clash hybrid so also good. We generally have 3 distinct sounds to our songs which are either Punk, Ska, or Thrash - sometimes they blend in one song, sometimes they're kept seperate. The best likeness is probably Rancid for our Ska stuff, anything from 77 (Pistols, Clash, Jam) for our Punk stuff, and Discharge/Crass for our Thrash stuff.
***DOORS OPEN AT HALF 4, AND WE'RE ON PRETTY MUCH IMMEDIATELY***
IF YOU WANT A LIFT WE'RE LEAVING THE MUSIC SHED AT 1pm
Phew!! Surface Unsigned is hotting up now. We're through to the Regional Semi-Finals and only 1 band goes through this time. It looks like we're the only Derby band left so get on and support us and help us go all the way. Here's how you can help;

The main direction of the band is Ska, but with a healthy dose of Punk and the occasional injection of Thrash - the lyrics range from everyday life to politics, to comedy. There's even a ballad. Only one. There's a rumour going round that we do covers and are available to do these for functions, weddings, bar mitzvah's etc. This is true - the covers range from 50's Rock 'n Roll to simple 90's Rock, with a heavy dose of ska/reggae thrown in. Think;
Eddie Cochran
Del Shannon
Rancid
Madness
Clash
The Jam
Sex Pistols
Buzzcocks
Beatles
Nirvana
Crass
Specials
Bad Manners
Cranberries
And so on...
We play anywhere, we're not afraid to travel, we've been up and down the country and have played alongside Buzzcocks, Dr and the Medics, Stranglers, Highliners etc - Scooter Rallies are a particular fave and we can be easily bribed to play cheap at them, just ask Sticky Rock, Can't Start Won't Start, Yorkshire Scooter Alliance, Huddersfield Scooter Club, Odd Mod Squad for a start.
This is our finest hour...
So that's us - we're a straight forward band, we turn up, we play loud and fast, we're not complicated, and we're cheap!! Probably the cheapest Scooterist band in the world...
We rehearse and record at this place because it's ace, and erm, oh yeah, we own it...!!
Check these guys out for some decent gig promotions and tell them to book us lots!!
Next Addictive gigs...
just a quick plug for our next shindif this saturday featuring the legend that is ted chippington... don't miss this rare chance to see the funniest man in the world...
We are a bit taccy but only our 4th practise and we're making decent progress. That song we write yesterday we showed you; 'Dodgems' was meant to be a Ska song haha. We just can't play that slow (A)
The battle of the bands for Bloodstock Open Air festival voting is soon going to be over. Currently we are in last place. Lordaeron needs your help to try and change that and all it takes is one vote from you. Sign up on the bloodstock website, enter the unsigned section on the forum and vote LORDAERON!!!!!! If you have already voted it doesnt matter! Try it anyway! (we are in the Derby section)
This link will take you direct to the sign up page. This only takes one minute so please give it a go.
Really? You thought that was organised?? I hated it that there was nothing for me to do, normally we have to set up all our own lighting and sound, so i just kept walking around aimlessly!
Yeah i thought you were awesome. We might have a few dates late auguts and september!
"CLB has songs with interesting lyrics that are sometimes deeper and more introspective than your usual jokey ska songs (though they [have] those too). I think that's important; ska needs to have more heart and more intelligence, not just be all silliness." –Aaron Barrett of Reel Big Fish and producer of Chase Long Beach's debut full-length album, "LeBeC."
