Singer, songwriter Michael Joyner has spent the last few years in Memphis Tennessee perfecting his sound. His music is a mixture of funky soul, folk, jazz and rock pulling influences from musicians like Amos lee, Curtis Mayfield and Blind Willie McTell to Hank Williams and Neil Young. Mike got his start playing guitar and co-writing with bands like Bella Sun and Valencia Robinson. Now he’s working on his solo act while trying to make a few friends on the way.
Hey there! How's it going? So, are you making it to Nashville for the Amos Lee show? I might make it out there. I'm going to see him in Asheville. Hey, you know Jordan lives in Nashville now, right?
:-) It was wonderful! Wish I could have stayed for the whole thing but all of a sudden my friend had to go take care of something. Maybe the watermelon got to her ;-)
I don't know what your plans are tonight but if your looking for something different you should come out to Cafe Ole in Midtown. SALSA NIGHT !! $5/10:30-2am and the margaritas are the best.
i thought so too. my friend and i were talking about mr gonzalez today about how we both liked his musak and she turned that song on and i hadn't heard it in his version before then, when i came home i started um..downloading....illegally...now i can't stop listening to all of it
Someone took what they wanted from you and stripped your pride I could sense it during conversations long before I heard you sing it Though our talks haven't been numerous, and mostly brief with a long engagement thrown in here of there I really do feel like you've revealed something deep and intimate about yourself I'm not trying to claim an everlasting friendship, its probably just your personality
You have a kind smile and a voice that is pleasing to listen to your stories have some tears, but there are many more that recall never ending laughs still, the hurt shines through, barely in the passive voice, hidden by your recently found joy The way you find truth in my poem that looks on love in a brutal light, showing it for what it really is (everything you desire, an everlasting bliss and ecstasy, and just a passing phase in life that will soon be forgotten about - depending on what lover you are)
I am glad you are no longer chasing a dream of someone else, living in a shadow of someone else I met you after those days, and I really enjoy this you who does have something to say
Now you have finished setting up and its time for your two songs I hope the fist is the one in which you let everyone hear that bitter warning "the warmth of the sun doesn't always last" I know that to be true friend, trust me I really honestly do I just hope that you aren't being optimistic I hope that the suns warmth actually does come Then for your second, sing that song that is older then both of us combines I know change is gonna come, it always does, but tonight I hope its for the better
Thanks Makes Me feel special. Hope to see you TM at the cabana. feels weird havn someone else open. You should've seen demon soul do a rendition of "boulevard of broken dreams" by green day.that was interesting.
