To become weathered is natural; the most massive mountains eventually disintegrate into unrecognizable granulites. But to gain strength in the midst of fragmenting forces brings proof to the human impulse of passion. The elements of A Dead Giveaway began to combine more than 8 years ago when, together, guitarist Bryce Veazey and drummer Brandon Woodall first picked up instruments in their early years of High School. Following in the footsteps of family members and friends who had lead the way in creative and artistic expression, Veazey and Woodall created the foundation of what would soon become A Dead Giveaway. As time and various names for the group came and went, the band slowly started to take form. Bassist Cory Tittle and Vocalist Jesse Collins joined early in the bands carrier, forming the initial group four which released two studio albums while still in High School. In late 2006 Jon Gibbens, assistant producer on A Dead Giveaway’s 2005 release “In Loving Memory”, joined as a second guitarist; thus filling out the bands presence and sound. In the Spring of 2009 A Dead Giveaway released the long awaited full length album “Heaven Hell Earth and The Moon”. In the months that followed A Dead Giveaway focused on a rigorous physical and digitally promotion of the album. In mid-summer A Dead Giveaway was featured in an exclusive news story on Kansas City’s KMBC 9 News. The story covered the bands participation in the effort to find missing college student Jesse “Opie” Ross; a close friend and previous manager of the band. Since the summer A Dead Giveaway has been writing and recording a new EP to be released in the spring of 2010, as well as currently booking a mid-summer tour to promote awareness of missing individuals. There are no limits to music; A Dead Giveaway is a living example of this. With over 8 years experience writing and performing music A Dead Giveaway has stood the test of time and emerged a stronger, more productive band.
