‘A Different Friction’ manages the very talented singer/songwriter Jon Byrne. Jon's live performances have to be seen to be believed; with exuberant foot stomping, anarchic personality syndrome and broken strings. He then cleverley whisks you off into a seemingly tranquil state that leads you into a false sense of security by giving you soft tones, fragile heart strings and emotional roller coasters, before slapping you in the face once again with the honest realism of social degeneration and urban cataclysm. Jon Byrne is a 'finger on the trigger' zeitgeist troubadour.

The aim of ‘A Different Friction Entertainment Limited’ is to feed the gluttonous appetite of the true music lover in South Cumbria. As independent promoters we are looking to bring in top quality artists to Barrow and surrounding areas and to make South Cumbria a popular and established stop off point on the touring circuit.

Songwriting Masterclass with Jon Byrne / 3pm - 5pm
With a musician whose influences are so diverse, expect this session to draw in all kinds of music and be concerned with quality work, both in song writing and composition. *limited spaces still available*
A&R Panel Session / 6pm - 7.30pm
Faced with the shrinking profits, record labels are adopting a new approach. So do bands and artists now need to do the same? How do artists generate interest from record and publishing companies to begin with? What are the terms of a deal likely to be these days? This panel contains a broad cross-section of contemporary thought, on how artists can cultivate their own careers.

Hi, We are headlining the 3rd Annual Music Awards at The Canteen on Monday 29th December and we are nominated for 4 awards which includes: Best CD, best song, best band and best live act!
