"A Don Piper Situation is all about the sustain. In the choruses of his songs, Don will hold a note, another voice will grab another note, a trumpet or a clarinet or pedal steel will hit another and yet another until some impossible chord is hung out before you like a glass chandelier in all it's shimmering, flickering glory. Don himself is also about the sustain. He grew up in the tuff weeds of Carlisle Pa. He learnt the rock trade in Austin Tx with a mix of punk, bluegrass,& psychedelia bands. He moved to NYC, started A Don Piper Situation, and released a single and an EP. In short order, he had a publishing deal, a contract with Capitol Records and a big glossy "Next Big Thing" picture in Rolling Stone. In somewhat short order after that, well, let's just say he still had the picture. So he did what all smart Americans do when they're screwed by the man, he jumped in a forty-foot-long 1969 International Harvester school bus and made a psychedelic road movie, "Caravan Summer" (coming soon to a theater near you). Then he got the album back from the major and released it on his own. Ha ha! The result was the brilliant pop-rock of 2000's "Saturate" -- Beatles/ Finn/ Love. Last year, he recorded "Inside a Change", from which these four songs were taken. Muted & beautiful but unmistakebly pop, The Situation's sound hangs in hazy memories of an autumn love affair -- Walker / Hazelwood/ Hunky Dory. Listen to the sustain."
that about says it all for me.

Thanks for the add. Remember, we met at the Starlit Café in Mumbai overlooking the harbor? My stomach was dodgy and yours wasn´t. I like yor vocals, they give me Crowded House vibes, which is a huge compliment. Hope to see U in NY someday and check out your studio.
