Adopt-A-Block not only helps provide yearly funding for Second Chance’s programs and services but it also helps bring San Diegans together in support of a neighboring community. This year’s event takes place on May 20th, 2006 in the community of Encanto. The event kicks off at 7:30 a.m. and volunteers are teamed up to help paint houses, remove weeds, paint murals and clean up litter to benefit a community in need. All volunteers receive a free Adopt-A-Block t-shirt, breakfast, lunch and entertainment provided by Second Chance.
This year's event will undergo a few changes as we will be adding some aspects that better suit the mission of Second Chance. These aspects include a Job Fair and Community Resource Fair.
