A few basses and me .. I am blessed to play with some very gifted musicians, but I like to experiment at home with Protools and whatever is laying around. I am a big fan and endorser of Nordstrand Basses, F Basses, MTD ( Michael Tobias Design ). I use Gallien Krueger Amplification. A long as there is a bass near, and knowing that the Lord is always with me, I can deal with just about anything life can throw at me. Even cancer.
Music is God's gift in my life, ALL for HIS Glory
Influences
Jim Fielder of Blood, Sweat and Tears. Paul Jackson of the Headhunters. Stanley Clarke, Jaco Pastorius, Rocco Prestia, Larry Graham. Today I love Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten, Jimmy Haslip. Richard Bona, Fred Hammond, Rhonda Smith, Alain Caron... there are so many!

Adrian, I think of you often, I miss your presence here and love you always. Your spirit and soul continues to shine my brother. Thank you for touching me with your friendship and kindness. God Bless you.
Yesterday was the first Christmas in many years we have not spoken. I'm a little jealous, this year you got to celebrate Jesus's birthday in his presence.
Hey, Man... I was thinking of you, and thought I'd send a Tribute to you on your page. You always were an Inspiration to me. Whenevr I was down ,a dnI spoke to you, you ALWAYS came through and made ME feel a Better Man then before i talked to you. I never knoew you HAD Cancer untill you told me of it in a Later discussion. This is how the Measure of a MAN is made. You never leet on, and yet you STILL had it in your Heart to make others feel good Either through your Words, or your Music... David's right. You ARE in the BEST of Care where you are. So, save me a spot in the line when we meet again. Even then, I'll probably ask you "Hoe do you play such and such", "How do you do that with your Fingers facing such a way?",and "What are you doing when you do So and So?" I'll be standing behind Jaco, and Mingus waiting to hear what you have to tell us. God Bless You, my Friend I Miss You!!!
Damn I miss talking, sharing, and laughing with you. Mr. Garcia, You taught me a lot over the years. I miss you. I will see you again. Until we meet again.
In the mid-seventies at North Miami Senior High, 11th grade, Adrian rescued me. I had just moved from Tampa and was a stoner introvert, slouching around cloaked in depression. Adrian was in my world history class. He was a bit cocky, especially with girls, he could talk to them with an ease that amazed me. He had the disco thing in full effect, platform shoes and half open knic-knic shirts, but he also had long hair, played bass and dug Hendrix. I was a music freak, and he saw the band names scrawled on my notebooks. Later he admitted that he was also intrigued by my silent hippie vibe and atypical ability to ace tests. We discovered our mutual love for music and goof ball humor and became inseparable. We started mutilating Crimson and Zeppelin tunes in my garage, later joining a disco cover band, our first pro gig. We hated the music but got paid. The first time Adrian played “That’s the Way I Like It” and “Get Down Tonight” was not when he auditioned for KC and got the gig, but when he was 17 years old and playing in some long gone, seedy lounge just up from Haulover Beach.
This ridiculously confined space will not allow the extended tribute to Adrian’s memory he deserves. Suffice it to say that we lost touch for reasons common to coming of age, renewing contact intermittently years later. One abiding memory was when my then 3-month-old son slept through a KC soundcheck, prompting Adrian to slyly remark that it was a sign that he had good taste. After I learned of his cancer troubles, we spoke on the phone; he was unflinchingly realistic yet positive. Upon his passing, my cycling memories of Adrian have intensified, which, while making me very sad, is a good thing. I can still see him; I can still hear his lightly accented voice. Whenever I spoke to or saw him, I always remembered what had bound us together in the first place: his ability to make fun of himself, his sensitivity, compassion, humility, wit, and intelligence. His spirit will live with me always.
We will see you again my brother. Your life was a testament of the love of God. You will be rewarded greatly in Heaven for your life's work. You were a wonderful example of what a man should be, and we who had the privilege of knowing you have been enriched by your friendship. I love you and will miss you. Until we meet again, sleep in peace.
Hey Adrian, RIP Bro, I hope you will be good where you are now and that you'll play crazy gigs for angels, as you were doing here... Will never forget the man you were...never
