About me:

Passione e ricerca, un brivido caldo che m’insegue da sempre. Così identifico il jazz, sound che mi accompagna costantemente da anni e che ho imparato ad esplorare nei suoi aspetti più recenti, nuovi e raffinati. Un’evoluzione culturale incessante. Tutto parte dall’incontro casuale con l’acid jazz degli US 3 che mi spinge, agli inizi degli anni ’90, alla frequentazione del fenomeno culturale emergente nelle nostre zone: l’Associazione Culturale FEZ di Bari e tutto quello che Nicola Conte, il suo “maitre a penser”, genera. Nuove atmosfere, proposizioni all’avanguardia, costumi e modelli di vita innovativi. Le sonorità che perciò m’interessano si fanno più ricercate e mi avvicino a quelle più tipiche della nota etichetta BLUE NOTE, sound dei più noti dancefloor jazz internazionali. Mi concentro ancor di più sul tema bossanova, acquisto e propongo rarità e ristampe di JOBIM, JOAO GILBERTO, JORGE BEN, JOAO DONATO, SERGIO MENDES e tanti altri ancora. La stessa passione e lo stesso interesse riverso nei confronti del fenomeno “easy listening” che seguì di lì a breve, sound dei salotti culturali e modaioli all’avanguardia, sottofondo dei più noti american bar del pianeta. La mia ricerca si sofferma però sulla produzione di autori italiani rinomati nel mondo, come i Maestri Morricone, Umiliani e Piccioni. Questo patrimonio culturale e di ricerca metto oggi a disposizione dei pre-serata e dei dinner set de “La Lampara” in Trani. L’incontro casuale avvenuto nel 2003 con Enzo D’argento, mi ha aperto le porte di uno tra i pochi locali storici riconosciuti ed ancora attivi d’Italia. La mia ricerca si è ora affinata sul nu jazz e sulla nu bossa, suoni che reinterpretano il grande passato bossanova e jazz con l’elettronica, l’house, la sperimentazione più spinta. Ancora una volta in linea con l’avanguardia mondiale del sound nei migliori locali. Così il jazz vive, evolvendo e mutando continuamente, producendo capolavori “rivoluzionari”. Jazz sound goes along with me already many years. I'm costantly fashinated and busy keeping an eye on worldwide new productions and evolutions of it.
Jazz evolution will never stop.
For me everything started early in the 90's ,period of the european acid-jazz,at the US 3 concert. I dig it so much i couldn't stop to follow the wave of the music movement FEZ,from Bari ( a town in Puglia,South of Italy).The FEZ movement was led and organized by music selector and artistic producer Nicola Conte.I was,and still i am,very inspired with Nicola Conte's "maitre a penser" ,his innovative way of approaching and producing music and life style.New atmospheres..
At that time for me was natural to get more and more interested in BLUE NOTE label records.Definetly those records were for me the best "dance floor" sound in the world. Next step has been the bossanova hit!Since then i buy and play rare tunes of JOBIM, JOAO GILBERTO, JORGE BEN , JOAO DONATO, SERGIO MENDES and many others.. Same passion and same interest i have for what came after ,the "Easy Listening" phenomen ,the "soundtrack" of stylish ,trendy and fancy nights all over the planet. My music research became then more concentrated on the renowned italians author as the Maestri : Ennio Morricone,Piero Umiliani and Piero Piccioni.. This cultural wide heritage i share and play as resident music selector at 'La Lampara" club in Trani (close to Bari). Only in 2003 years ago i met Enzo D'argento and he opened the door and let me in " La Lampara" .A very historic ,long existing,beautiful spot.Recognized as one of the best club ever in Italy. My track-list today also includes new sounds as Nu Jazz and Nu Bossa.This music tendency comes as results from the combination of "old" jazz and bossanova with elettronic,house,sperimental music.. Once again this sound is in line with the vanguard music wave all over the world... This is how Jazz music lives,evolves and continuously changes ,giving the chance to produce revolutionary masterpieces... For istance this is exactly what i go for and what i propose : a "cool evolution" .
