About me: Born in the UK, raised in Vancouver, with roots reaching back to Barbados, Adrian Holmes was bitten by the acting bug at a very young age. The eldest of three boys, this theater school graduate and intense leading man started out in many stage productions such as: The Wizard of Oz, L'il Abner, West Side Story, and City of Angels. Though it was in 1991 that he made his television debut on the family series, “Neon Rider”. Throughout his career, Adrian has had the privilege of working with some notable names in Hollywood such as the legendary Al Pacino, Oscar winner Halle Berry, Mathew McConaughey, Vivica A. Fox, Peter Falk, Jean Claude Van Damme, Edward James Olmos, and Ray Liotta just to name a few.
His most prized accomplishment was to have worked opposite Oscar winner Halle Berry, in the upcoming film "Frankie and Alice". Based on a true story set in 1973, the film follows a young woman, Frankie (Halle Berry), struggling with multiple personality disorder and torn between who she is and a racist Caucasian alter-personality that preys upon her mind. In the film Adrian plays her love interest, Clifton, a DJ in a strip club in which she works. He is not only honored to have worked with the Oscar winner but to have also been a part of such an incredible film. This is a sad and very important subject and what could possibly be another Oscar nod for Ms. Berry. The film is scheduled to be in the 2010 Festival circuit and then have a theatrical release sometime soon after that.
Some of Adrian’s’ Film and TV credits include Fringe, Smallville, Supernatural, BattleStar Galactica, L Word, Human Target, The Andromeda Strain, Two For the Money, Battle in Seattle, and White Noise 2: The Light. Adrian has returned to "Smallville" for its ninth season playing Basquat, a Kryptonian soldier who is the right hand man to the future General Zod and will be soon off to Vancouver Island to begin work on the film "Wrecked" opposite Oscar winner Adrien Brody.
Adrian's success continues with Voice-Over work for a variety of animated shows, video games and commercials. Some of his credits include Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Hot Wheels Acceleracers, The Bratz, The Sushi Pack, and A Kind of Magic. He can also be heard as Bo in the EA sports video game "Def Jam Fight for New York" and is currently in the works of completing another game for EA.
In 2004, Adrian received a LEO Award Nomination for Best Guest Star Performance for his portrayal of bad boy rapper, Core-D, in the television series “The Collector”. He also played Omar in John Patrick Shanley’s' stage play, “The Big Funk” in December 2006. This was a high note for Adrian as it marked his return to the stage in over ten years. He has a love for the theater and sees the stage as acting in its purest form. Adrian is currently rehearsing for the musical "The Wild Party" scheduled to open in Vancouver at the Anza Club on May 2nd.
Adrian feels very blessed to have been able to express himself through this art form over the many years and hopes very much to be able to continue doing so. He sees Acting as a powerful medium that inspires one to strive and not just survive. May we all be inspired!
