Maremoto è il progetto di un incontro oltre confine. Un viaggio nel quale i partecipanti condividono il senso del movimento geografico e culturale. E’ il Mar Adriatico stesso con tutti i suoi misteri, ripercorso a ritroso nel tempo, alla ricerca di ciò che ha preceduto la sua diaspora. La frammentazione culturale che sedimentandosi nel tempo ha creato forme musicali profondamente differenti, figlie illegittime delle stesse acque.
Si fa tappa a Dubrovnik, a Durazzo e a Tirana per giungere finalmente a Otranto e i concerti nei porti dell’Adriatico sono le tappe di questo percorso. Si fa scalo nei luoghi in cui le musiche hanno avuto da sempre la possibilità di viaggiare e di cambiare. Nei porti dell’Adriatico si incontrano le genti che arrivano e partono, portandosi dietro facce e lingue che ancora oggi vivono una mutazione continua, alla perenne ricerca di un approdo possibile.

Maremoto is a journey across cultural and geographical boundaries, whose partecipants share the feeling of stretching both kinds of borders while moving through them. It happens in the Adriatic sea, going backwards along the timeline in search of what preceeded its diaspora - the cultural fragmentation that produced a wide variety of musical forms, deeply different between each other but all descending from a common source, like love children of the same water.
The trip stops in Dubrovnik, Durazzo and Tirana, last stop is in Otranto: one stage at each harbour, a concert on every stage, in the places where music has always had the possiblity of traveling and changing, where leaving and arriving people meet each other, with faces and languages in continuous mutation, in eternal search for a possible landing place.
Parte il 14 Maggio da Brindisi l'equipaggio della BandAdriatica. Condotta dal motoveliero Idea 2, la banda in due settimane raggiunge i porti dell'Adriatico del Sud che hanno ispirato e contagiato le proprie musiche. Incontra a Dubrovnik il suonatore di lijerica Ivo Letunic, il pianista Mateo Martinovic e il coro maschile della Klapa Otok e con loro la musica tradizionale dalmata. Tre giorni di prove e un concerto memorabile di fronte ad un pubblico scatenato e incredulo. E' quindi la volta di Durazzo e Tirana e di Bojken Lako, musicista che fonde la musica tradizionale albanese con il punk e il rock. Il risultato dell'incontro con la banda è esplosivo. E i quattro giorni in Albania sono un segno indelebile sui volti dei musicisti. Si torna tutti in Italia e in Salento di fronte a 10000 persone, si porta in scena il concerto reunion con tutti i musicisti partecipanti al progetto. Si porta in scena la musica adriatica.
