Bitch Magazine The Tuna Helpers I'll Have What She's Having (Web of Mimicry)
"Though Adrienne may race around stage, kicking and screaming, her piercing eyes bulging out of her head as she releases a glorious yowl, you'd somehow feel at ease leaving her with your children."
Venus Online, December 2005
"...Adrienne's quivering, soaring words melt against cascading guitar, cello, and Bethany's tinkling keyboards, creating a dramatically melodic mood."
Splendid Magazine The TunaHelpers: "I'll Have What She's Having"
"...the key element, however, is Adrienne's alluring voice. She's classically trained, and can carry a tune as easily as she can stalk your speakers with her siren-like performance. Weak-minded musical patrons beware: it only takes a few notes to fall under the Helpers' hex."
KNOX NEWS (Knoxville, Tennessee)
"...weaving gothic tales of toys gone wild and kittens and children in peril. And all the while, strings and various "instrumental affectations" escort Adrienne through mad-girl vocal flips and operatic swells."
Nashville Scene: The TunaHelpers
"...they recognize that storybooks hinge on nightmarish fears and human yearnings-something that comes through most keenly in the ache of Adrienne the Anemone's vocals."
Girlstown Productions FracturedFairytales from the Sea (Interview)
"Adrienne's stunning voice soars above lush, sparkling melodies and jagged guitar, sometimes from the center of the stage, her wild eyes shifting around the audience, or hidden behind a two-headed puppet..."

I am not fully sure what it was exactly, but your last performance at The Delancey was, I thought, one of the best performances I have ever seen you do, and I always like your shows, there was just something even more potent about that one. It has been replaying itself in my head since I left.

I thought I would share this, I was at a Larkin Grimm show last night, and I happened to be wearing my Adrienne Anemone shirt. She looked at it and said "ooohhh!! you listen to Adrienne Anemone, she's amazing." Someone asked her what your music was like (I found this interesting) and she described it by saying "it's like a really awesome psychedelic mermaid." I thought that was a good way to put it.

I remember a story about a girl at uni who had to do a compulsory course in some form of women's studies but was 'anti-feminist' or some such thing - whatever that is - so she would sit through all the lectures knitting as a form of protest - dear oh dear - I was well aware of the abortive use of knitting needles by the way!
