   About Adrienne
I play guitar.

Have done for ages...
... well, about a third of a century.

Recent years my thing has been to do it using a loop pedal. I'll play some chords and loop them, live, then maybe layer some bass and percussive sounds to give a nice wallpaper-like backing to improvise over, all using the same guitar.

As for style, I think it's cool if you've got one.

I'm pretty into improv as an ethic. I generally dislike things which have been too thought through and practised because I think it kills the spirit; it all gets closer to bureaucracy than music.

I also love guitars and all things about them. I started learning about how they're put together when at school, made my first solid body before leaving school and I'm still fascinated with the qualities of wood and techniques of construction as well as what all this does to the final sound. A sensual science.

Guitar making is the nearest thing to creating life that human endeavour has managed.

Stuff DNA and Frankenstein, it's the tonewoods.

Lookin forward to seeing you at Christmas, in fact that's the only thing I'm looking forward to about Christmas: family and friends.

Yes. I was quoting. I'm sure I've come across websites and message boards which are programmed to write the singular when it is required.

Have a good week x

Hello Adrienne,
Thanks for returning my call. I'll ring again at the weekend. I was thinking of adding a comment to your last blog entry about the fiction of numbers but I thought it would spoil the fact that at present there is only '1 comments'.

darn breaks = brakes; fews = fuse (few really) I'm all hyper and mistake-ridden.

PS - do you think calling somebody a 'pedestrian' is patronising or agrandizing?? Or ummm... neither? hahah ;) xxx
~Waxy~

Jun 7 2008 3:19 PM

thanks I did scrape it, it's more than common sense - well it could be that I don't have any common sense; rather very uncommon senses (+ two extras). What the hell are anti-'something' breaks?? The hazard things was ambiguous too - on the intro they circle an innocent pedestrian as a hazard, so I was being all cautious and then something *really* hazardous happens and I've probably run out of clicks ;)

Never again I say haha! Should have a new song up in the next fews days - recorded it yesterday only for the file to corrupt... back to the singing board ;)

See ya soon.

Hiya hope all's well in da wire... am currently quantumplating how much I know about driving theory = conclusion very little. Darn if only I'd done some work at school I'd maybe have a studying gene now (theory test tomorrow!!).

Ah well, hoping to have a new song up very soon... recording seems a more attractive way to spend my day of freedom.

How's things? Catcha soon xxx
