ADRIENNE PIERCE BIO:
I am a singer-songwriter from Horseshoe Bay, B.C. in Canada. Several of my songs have been heard in major television shows such as Grey's Anatomy, Veronica Mars, The Hills, Dirt, Army Wives, The L Word, Greek etc. This October I will make my first appearance in a feature film (Couples Retreat) or at least my my voice will. I have played everything from Lilith Fair to The Cavern Club in Liverpool. I have toured with and opened for some amazing artists (Ray LaMontagne, Damien Rice, Sondre Lerche, The Stereophonics, Jane Siberry, Carina Round, The Finn Brothers, Yoav) and I have played live on the BBC. I even had a member of Radiohead compliment me on my performance after a show in Toronto. I have toured Canada several times and have toured extensively in the US and the UK as well. I have performed at The Toronto International Film festival and have showcased at SXSW, NXNE, CMW and NMW.
I released my first album, Small Fires, on my own little label in Canada. Small Fires was made up of 11 self penned folk/pop songs and was produced by Sean Ashby who is a longtime member of Sarah Mclachlan’s band. It was distributed by Maple Music and received great reviews and got the attention of Nettwerk Records and Management in Vancouver which I was later signed to.
I followed Small Fires up with an EP called Hors d'Oeuvres when two of my demos were used on Grey's Anatomy and Veronica Mars. These placements of my songs on popular television shows and the inclusion of my song "Lost and Found" on the Veronica Mars Soundtrack Album created a demand for the songs. The Second Cup coffee chain also released an EP of mine called Exit which was available exclusively at their shops across Canada. I released two original Christmas songs as an EP and Canadian Tire also placed my Christmas songs on their promotional album last winter (2007). Canadian Tire released 600,000 of these discs.
My second full length album Faultline was released digitally in 2007 by Nettwerk (and into stores in 2008) and was produced by Jeff Trott (Sheryl Crow) and Thom Russo (8 time grammy award winner) and features performances by many past and present members of Beck's band including Justin Meldal Johnson, Lyle Workman, Joey Waronker Victor Indrizzo and Roger Manning. Faultline has become very popular with my fans and has earned many new fans around the world. There are several fan generated videos for songs from Faultline on Youtube.
In October (2007) my cover of a Neil Young song (along with covers by Ron Sexsmith, Barenaked Ladies etc.) was released as part of Broken Tunes II. In November 2008 I released a 6 song EP "Winter” received great reviews and international airplay. It was heard on everything from podcasts in Afghanistan to popular shows on CBC radio and tastemaker stations in the U.S. such as World Café Live on WXPN. Winter is the first in a series of 4 seasonal EP’s. My second seasonal, self produced EP "Spring" was released digitally through my website this year and my new album "Oh Deer" will be released early in 2010.
Hi Adrienne. Faultline still never fails to set off sparks of pure pleasure in my head. You have a permanent spot on my ipod, lovingly sandwiched between Abra Moore and Al Green. Anyway, just wanted to say hey.
