In turns sorrowful, mysterious, inspiring, and rich, High Priestess adds more than a little of just that to anyone's day who hears even one song. The unusual mix of instruments in this mysterious, gypsy-like group makes for sound that can move you to dance, or to tears. Leading a merry troupe is High Priestess, an accomplished harpist and classical vocalist with a masters work in Film Scoring from the University of Southern California and a BFA from CalArts. High Priestess' music has been heard on many shorts, trailers, and on some well known movies, such as Munich, The Life of David Gale, Resident Evil, and more. She can be seen as Catwoman with Gotham Public Works, appearing at Comicon and other places. She performs regularly at decadent and erotic events across Los Angeles, such as the annual masquerade ball, Masque, the Labyrinth of Jareth, the "I Am" parties and Electric Daisy Carnival. Associated with High Priestess is guitarist Mike Miller who plays with the panache of de Bergerac. His notes have supported popular artists such as Bette Midler, Frank Zappa, and have pervaded the atmosphere of the Las Angeles Philharmonic New Music Group. Tom Fowler will provide the rich, deep vibrato of bass for the band, making foundation for our priestess like he did for the Ray Charles Orchestra. In the 1970s he and his four brothers formed the Fowler Brothers Airpocket, of which many members still play with Banned from Utopia. Peter Kent is an amazing violinist. working as a first call violinist for innumerous live orchestras, film scores, and album projects, not to mention as Danny Elfman's concertmeister. His traditional Albion melodies bring perfect compliment to High Priestess's song. James Smith dances on the keys of his vibraphone almost more than he does on his own two feet, providing light, complimentary harmony to the harp and guitar. He is a true sensualist who loves his music and thrashes an incredible solo in . Christian Colquhoun on keyboards, sometimes with Theo Mondle on organ. Theo is an incredible talent, accomplished on the tabla, keyboard or synth, he has been heard with Beck on the "'Odelay" tour and also String Theory. The happiness and bond that these members share is completely obvious in their resonant, chordant sounds on stage or cd. They bring you music from beyond the heart, music to live and grow by. High Priestess presents her latest work - Oak Song. The smoky, jazzy vocals and nomadic tribal drums on these tracks will give you a deeper touch with nature and your inner song.
Influences
High Priestess is mostly self-inspired, but she listened to a lot of Led Zepplin and Loreena McKennit while she was developing OakSong. However, the music is reminiscent of only the singing of the soul in pure sensation and stands in a category all it's own. High Priestess highly enjoys the music and lyrics of artists such as Bjork and Tori Amos who also make music from the heart of the faerie realm.
High Priestess likes a little of everything and again, like her firey soul and cutting mind, shows through in her song.
Sounds Like
High Priestess's moon-washed vocals bring the lilting, lyrical sense of Bjork to grips with a smooth CCR-like jazzy background. Reminiscent of Enya at times, Tori, Voltaire... Her music honestly is written from her heart, with celtic, jazz, rock, and gothic overtones. There is no category for this slightly psychadelic cabaret folk band.
New Music for you!

BIOGRAPHY:
The Society for the Preservation of Faerie Arts was created after a series of unmistakable collaborations occurred between the humans at the House of Bliss and the Realm of the Fae. It is evident now that authentic faerie music was recorded, and is now available on CD for the first time in recorded history. The album features mostly harp, accompanied by ghostly instruments played by joyful and moody Fae spirits. The album 'Faerie Archives, v.1' was preceded by 'OakSong': a Celtic rock collaboration with various other inspired artists, as well as 'Sellisternia', a debut album whose genres span world music, sensual groove, darkwave and mystical electronica.
In a time when magic is in popular fashion and the world is hungry for role-models who respect and care for the Earth, High Priestess Regan is living these ideals. Stunning and wild-haired, this Colorado native goes beyond traditions while rooting herself in the wisdom of direct Gnosis. Her work with the Fae is being further explored in a forthcoming book. High Priestess embodies a living connection to ancient traditions, such as Indian mystical techniques, Faerie magic, and the way of the temple Priestess. High Priestess also composed the ballroom-style piano score for 'Astra von Berlifitzing', a spellbinding dance performance that has now been witnessed at the Burning Man festival and beyond.
Regan's spiritual work is augmented by her intense creativity, mostly in the realm of music. Her works have been heard on FOX, CNN, Comedy Central, Sci Fi Channel, History Channel. She has performed extensively around the west coast, including specialty fantasy and fairy events. Her music has been in such varied places as a Vegas show based the world's most famous porno and a large scale dance performance of an Edgar Allen Poe tale.
The faeries have spoken! Faerie Archives, v. 1 is Regan (HPS) on her own, channeling harp music as dictated by the faerie realm. This influenced the founding of the Society for the Preservation of Faerie Arts See links for more info, or check out www.faeriearchives.com!

May your heart be touched with Love as your beautiful thoughts have touched mine... Tonight beneath the moonlight he will be my beams of love lighting up the darkened crevices that seem to hide the pain... Every star a twinkling reminder of the many reasons why, that I love this man beside me and the love he loves to share...
