Advance Fire Services is one of the leading fire protection companies in Yorkshire.
We are a family run business based in York established in 1976 specialising in the field of fire safety. We design, install, commission and maintain Fire Alarm Systems, Emergency Lighting and Fire Fighting Equipment with a wide range of custom made fire safety signs.
With over 30 years of experience in Fire Detection and Prevention we cover as far north as Newcastle down to Derby / Nottingham / Lincoln and from East Coast to West.
We also offer an emergency after hours call out service if needed.
All our signs are custom made keeping our customers compliant.
In 1991 we were awarded the very first 'Small Business of the Year Awards' presented by the The York Press.
In 2000 we were awarded the 'Consumers' Gold Choice Award'.
We are specialists in what we do, offering expert advice to keep our customers compliant with the current British Standard regulations. We take great care in our work and service to a very high standard but with low servicing charges.
If you have a fire alarm system, emergency lighting or fire fighting equipment within your building, you may or may not be aware that it requires regular maintenance, in accordance with BS 5839-1, BS 5266-1 and BS 5306-3. Should this be of relevance to you, we would be pleased to offer you a free quotation for this service.
New Fire Safety regulations came into force on 1st October 2006.
THE RESPONSIBILITY IS NOW ON THE OWNER ARE YOU FULLY COMPLIANT?
ALL ORIGINAL FIRE CERTIFICATES NO LONGER EXIST & IT IS UP TO THE OWNER / LANDLORD TO COMPLY TO THE CURRENT BRITISH STANDARD REGULATIONS.
THIS RELATES TO FIRE EXTINGUISHERS, FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS AND SIGNAGE
BUSINESSES (e.g. OFFICES, HMO'S, SHOPS, PUBS, ETC..).
= TO COMPLY TO THE CURRENT REGULATIONS =
FIRE ALARM PANELS [BS 5839-1]:
- ALL FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS ARE REQUIRED TO BE SERVICED REGULARLY &
COMPLY TO THE CURRENT BRITISH STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS IN FORCE.
- ALL CALL POINTS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE APPROPIATE IDENTIFICATION SIGNS.
EMERGENCY LIGHTING [BS 5266-1]:
- ALL ARE REQUIRED TO BE SERVICED REGULARLY.
FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT [BS 5306-3]:
- ALL ARE REQUIRED TO BE SERVICED ONCE A YEAR.
- ALL WALL MOUNTED OR TO HAVE APPROPIATE EXTINGUISHER STANDS / CABINETS.
- ALL REQUIRED TO HAVE APPROPIATE INDIVIDUAL IDENTIFICATION SIGNS WITH THEM.
FIRE SAFETY SIGNS:
- SOME NO LONGER COMPLY & NEED UPDATING.
EVEN IF YOU MAY NOT HAVE EQUIPMENT SUCH AS FIRE ALARMS, EMERGENCY LIGHTING OR EXTINGUISHERS. DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE THEM INSTALLED.
IGNORANCE IS NO EXCUSE, AND IT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE IF YOU DO NOT COMPLY!
