The Adventist Vocal Ensemble (AVE) is a session choral broadcast ensemble. In short, a television or radio programme producer asks for a choir of the style of music which the Adventist Vocal Ensemble does, and the ensemble is put together for that broadcast. What is AVE's musical style? What makes it stand apart?
AVE sings sacred and inspirational choral music. It fuses the sounds of gospel,Classical, easy listening, and Jazz to create music which has fervour, precision, class,is not too much on the ear, well blended, and highly disciplined. It brings together musical styles in its arrangements to make it a choir truly accessible to many. This is why it is so well loved and well received.
On top of that, its singers have had a wealth of vocal experience. Check out some of the experiences the singers have had:
-part of the winning and runner up choirs of 'Choir Of The Year' (BBC/Sainsbury, currently Radio 3 Choir Of The Year), in 1994
-part of the BBC 'Best UK Gospel Choir Of The Year'
-guest artists at Buckingham Palace, 'Prom At The Palace' for the Queen's Golden Jubilee
-BBC Eastenders, not only featured, but part of a storyline
-concert hall performances including Sydney Opera House,Sage,Royal Albert Hall, BBC Proms,Barbican,Royal Festical Hall
-other performance venues include Wembley Arena, Toronto SkyDome,Universal Studios
The founding director is choral composer/arranger, conductor London Adventist Chorale and the choir probably best known for its popular album 'The Very Best Of Gospel' The Croydon SDA Gospel Choir. Burton's choral music is published by Faber and OUP.
