Bright, shiny things! Winning the lottery! And, uhm, costuming, of the Star Wars/Medieval/anything-else-cool variety, photography/scrapbooking, cross-stitch, my kitties, feeding ducks (ducks are the awesomest!), I would like to get into rollerblading again, and my biggest interest of all: making boo-boo-kitty faces and noises at my spouse! ;-)
Movies
"My own brother, a god-damn, shit-sucking vampire. Oh, you wait til Mom finds out, buddy!" Heehee! An oldie, but goodie.
I like almost all the comic-book movies, especially Iron man, X-men, and the Fantastic Four, and TRANSFORMERS!!! I like old, and REALLY old movies. "Charlie's Aunt", and "Wuthering Heights", both from 1939, were really good, but I recorded them off AMC before their idea of "old" movies became Bond movies from the '70's, so you may be out of luck. I like the ones that make me cry, like "Moulin Rouge" and "The Green Mile", as well as the ones that make me giggle, like "Super Troopers," "Sorority Boys," and "Elf". Oh, and Tim Burton is a movie God. Pretty much anything he's done. And, of course, STAR WARS. Thought I'd forgotten, eh?
Television
My latest obsession is Carnivale. God, I love that show. I think right now Chuck is the best show on TV. But I'm a nerd. No, no, don't bother to contradict me, I know what I'm talking about! ;-p I'm liking "My Name is Earl", when I remember to catch it, and I love "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report". This week's ..1 threat? Bears. "Teen Titans" is cute, my favorite being Beast Boy. I finally got to see "Firefly", and loved it! My "Shows I loved" archive would include "Dark Shadows: Revival", "Due South", "Starman", "The Monkees", and "I Dream of Jeannie".
Books
Terry Pratchett definitely has one of the muses shackled in his basement. The man's a genius! Good Omens is probably the best introduction to his writing before plunging into the discworld novels. Any time I'm stressed or depressed, I read a Terry Pratchett book to lift my funk. Christopher Moore is a new favorite of mine. Read "Lamb, the Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal," or "A Dirty Job". Other than that, I love almost everything by Robin McKinley and Gerald Morris, Phantom by Susan Kay is good, and I enjoy Steven Gould. Oh, and anything with Spider-man in it, but those are C-O-M-I-C books, and may damage my "literary snob" street cred, so don't tell! ;-)
Heroes
Spider-man, the Fantastic Four, the X-men....OH! REAL heroes. Ummm...
......
......
THE MARQUIS DE LA FAYETTE, Jennie Breeden (The Devil's Panties), my third grade teacher, the lady who ran the Cascade Ferret Network, Jon Stewart, those who stood up to stop the terrorists on Flight 93. I don't know if I have personal heros. A hero to me is someone who makes or is prepared to make a sacrifice to help someone else, with no thought of receiving attention or gratitude for it, so often I never find out about it. I guess that makes Jon Stewart more someone I admire, rather than a hero. In that case, I also admire Abraham Lincoln, Samuel Clemens, Terry Pratchett, Will Smith and Bob Hope.

Haha!! Awesome!!! A mute cannibal! LOL!! Now I'm an incurable and unrepentant nerd who was lucky enough to meet my other half, my soul-mate on, of all places, a Spider-man chat forum. We've been married for 7 years (December 29...gifts welcome!), and still act all stupid in public together. Ah, l'amour! I finally found the courage to tell him that I was in the SCA, a medieval costuming group, only to find out that he's totally into costuming, too! Little did I know that the SCA is the minor leagues of costuming. Try making a Star Wars costume sometime. But it's been fun. We've brightened the lives of so many children, and donated a ton to charity through our appearances. I have a luvverly cat who thinks she's a dog and the best friends in the world. Probably the rest of my blurbs fill in the blanks.
Who I'd like to meet: I love meeting people! But I prefer friends to casual acquaintance. If I like someone, I will deepen the friendship as far as they will let me, and I will keep in touch forever. I want to meet people who are as earnest about making friends as I am. I'm always flattered by friend requests, but I don't want to be just another profile in your collection. I actually want to get to know you! If you request to add me as a friend, I won't approve your request unless you send me a message, comment on my blog, have an interesting blog yourself, or I already know you.
Things I Love About Independence Day (1. It's legal to purchase and use potentially fatal explosives. (2. Being drunk before noon on enough beer to kill a Clydesdale. (3. Self-esteem increases each year you're NOT the moron who drowned at the lake. (4. You can wear your Captain America T-Shirt without looking geeky. (5. It's the perfect collision of crass commercialism and phony patriotism. (6. Because time-travel hasn't been invented, we'll never know how depressed our Founding Fathers would be at the way we f*ck*d up their dream of liberty and freedom. (7. That girl --- you know the one --- who always shows up in the daisy-dukes and a tube top. (8. We tell children in our neighborhood that are scared by fireworks, it's only a drive-by and they calm down. (9. You can serve guests anything, including walrus carcass if you barbeque it first. (10. They haven't figured out a way to make it a religious holiday yet.
What? TWO of them? How is this possible?! Some sort of time travel, genetic clone...
...but more importantly, no, that Spider-Man/Doom thing was from an tradepaper back a few years back. Called something like Spider-Man vs. Doctor Doom. It was attrocious. Great art, though. Maybe I just didn't like it because Doom was knocked unconscious by a gernade thrown by a terrorist at him. I lost all believability for the comic and its characters at that point. I mean, why keep reading when just anything goes, you know? Purple unicorns will start eating at McDonalds with us, and smoking outdoors will have been linked to pollution of the o-zone layer... the writers could just do whatever they want.
Yes, that is an illustration of me in 2nd place! I even beat the effin' robot! Though, after the contest, he told me I would be the 2nd to die in the robot uprising. That kind of took my high away a little bit, but still... :)
