I fucking love Moulin Rouge, I love the whole idea of it, the underlying myth it's based on (Orpheus and Eurydice) and the singing, the remaking of old songs...it's fabulous.

Reading, writing poetry, cats, music, tattoos on myself and especially on other people, food/cooking. I am currently searching for a restaurant in the area that serves cajun food as good as i can cook it, but I m really biased since i grew up on it. My family and I lived in New Orleans (nawlins) for several years, so I'm really picky. My all time fave food is Blackend Catfish...anybody who can cook this well, may very well become my future ex...haha. I collect things, lots of things...I like to call myself throw-away challenged. I have a large collection of computer parts (I spent a year repairing my own computer in wisconsin...laugh if u like), but seriously i collect pez dispensers (I love the cute little heads that open at the neck--only slightly vampiric of me--and it dispenses hard sugary candy), pigs (cuz i love the cute little nose and curly tail), and I seem to have a very large collection of exes (ex-friends, ex-lovers, ex-boyfriends, ex-girlfriends, and ex-places of residence). I also have a small collection of clothes that are not mine but rather, belong to the various parts of the aforementioned group.

I love all kinds, but my all time fave is Aerosmith...don't laugh, most of my friends do though, but i don't care, i have all their cds and i'm damn proud of it...Metal, rock, goth, industrial, ebm, some techno, jazz, some country (don't laugh or I'll shoot u), angry girl rock (i.e poe,Garbage), pretty much anything. Music is my passion in this weird and awkward world. I imagine my life as being set to music, and I don't watch t.v. so don't ask me about whatever stupid television show just came out, cuz I won't know it. I love slipknot, him, lita ford, eminem (yeah that's right, and if u don't like it, fuck off), dead can dance, the cruxshadows.
Hate it! Don't bother with the crappy thing unless it's to watch a movie. Although, I admit, I do have some tv shows on dvd--sex and the city, family guy, and most recently Gilmore Girls and Dukes of Hazzard!
Books
Anything by Anne Rice, or Steven King. Favorite books include but are not limited to Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell, Dracula by Bram Stoker, Lincoln by Gore Vidal, all of the Harry Potter books, Exit to Eden by (Anne Rice under a psudonym), The Stand and Insomnia by King, Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier, The canterbury tales, and all the stories about King Arthur and his knights. Currently reading the latest Harry Potter book (finished that, really good), Dante's Pugatorio (the Hollander translation, which i think is by far the best), and trying again to read House of Leaves (gave up on that) and now reading "skin city, uncovering the las vegas sex industry", so far so good(Freaking great! Everybody should read it). The newest books I'm attempting to read: How to rock climb by John Long, Wicked by Gregory Macguire (very good...as is Son of a Witch by same author), The Mummy by Anne Rice and Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman (picked it up at the airport for something to read on a recommendation of a friend...was very funny!), Very recently became interested in Sharyn McCrumb.
Time is the most precious gift we're given...cuz it's the only thing we can't get more of, no matter what we do! Everything else we can buy, steal, trade for, work hard for, or beg for...but not time. We get the amount we're given, and that's it...and it's sad that few of us appreciate it for the gift it is, especially since none of us knows exactly how much we've been given.
