Aerz Nights was born and raised in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of
Brooklyn, NY, more commonly known as Bed-Stuy. He came into the world
with a love of music already coursing through his veins, which was
passed down to him by his father, who was a DJ before Aerz' birth. As
a
toddler, he loved vinyl, and as he grew older, became fascinated by
many
different genres of music.
Aerz also had a love for the arts, and entered into college at Parsons
School of Design to pursue a course of study in the arts. While in college in
1996, he began hanging with L-Swift of Natural Elements (also known as
Swigga), who in turn introduced him to producer extraordinaire
Charlemagne in the Bronx. Aerz' meetings with L-Swift and Charlemagne
led him to learning about the process of creating and producing music.
He spent hours watching Charlemagne at work in his attic in the Bronx,
absorbing all of the knowledge that was being passed to him. He became
so overwhelmed by music that it took him away from his art studies.
Aerz wrapped up his college career and graduated, but made the decision
to go straight into music immediately thereafter.
He began producing in 1998, and has remained steadfast in his desire
and
drive to hone and perfect his talents. Aerz is consistently making
strides toward expanding his visions by working with and learning from
established artists and producers in the industry. He has had many
influences throughout the years, and has been fortunate to surround
himself with positive people he is proud to work with. He is
affiliated
with Custom Made Entertainment, and recently, Aerz has taken some time
off from beat making and producing to concentrate on the artist and
repertoire (A&R) side of the business, which includes artistic and
commercial development of the label's artists.
Aerz seizes every opportunity available to him to go to studio sessions
with artists and other producers, live shows, artist interviews, album
drop events and listening parties, in order to expand his proficiency
and ingenuity at production. Because of his drive, determination and
skills, Aerz Nights is definitely someone to keep an eye (or rather an
ear) on, as his smooth production style and original beats are sure to
make an impact on the music industry that will not go unnoticed.
