Well, if one couldn't guess, MUSIC is a pretty big one for me.
I enjoy some movies, as listed below....
Books and writing are pretty big things...
Heck, outside of the stuff listed below, there's really not a whole heck of a lot left to me, outside of my wife and children....
Music
Major acts (alphabetical): The Alarm
, The Beatles, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Garbage, Information Society, M:G, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Pet Shop Boys, Queen, Rockell, Seal, The Smashing Pumpkins, YazooIndependent acts (alphabetical): The 4 Of Us
, Black Happy, bloodWIRE, Brand New Day, Color Theory, The Dignity Of Labour, The Echoing Green, EuroVision, Glow, Hungry Lucy, Intuition, Iris, Neuropa, Shoveljerk, SubAudeoMuch more that I'm too tired to think of at the moment.
Electronic music in it's myriad forms, but a good deal of rock, pop, and other styles...
Movies
An eclectic mix of things... sci-fi
, fantasy, action, comedy... but the list of titles can be somewhat bizarre. From the expected (Star Wars, Matrix, Lord Of The Rings, Monty Python) to the less expected (Space Battleship Yamato films, Metropolis (the 1920's silent film), Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey) to the relatively obscure (Shock Treatment (the sequel to The Rocky Horror Picture Show) for one).... Someday I'll work up a more comprehensive list....Television
Books
As an unpublished writer, I could go on for days here... but a few of the important ones:
- David Eddings - The Belgariad & The Malloreon series' (The Elenium & The Tamuli are pretty good too, but I was severely disappointed with The Dreamers)
- Stephen R. Donaldson - The Chronicles Of Thomas Covenant, Unbeliever & The Second Chronicles of Thomas Covenant series' (never read his sci-fi set The Gap or whatever it was called - might give it a shot sometime)
- Raymond E. Feist - The Riftwar Saga (and the spin-off series')
- Robert Asprin - The Myth Adventures of Aahz & Skeeve (or whatever the exact title of the series is - the one that starts with Another Fine Myth and ends (at least, the last one I've gotten so far) with Something M.Y.T.H. Inc.)
- Douglas Adams - The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy series
- Robert Jordan - The Wheel Of Time series (my brother got me hooked on this one)
- J.K. Rowling - Harry Potter series (okay, okay, I know, it's crassly commercial to admit to liking it these days, but it's still enjoyable reading)
and lastly for now,
- John D. Fitzgerald - The Great Brain series (yes, a children's series, but something I really loved as a boy and have recently re-read and enjoyed just as much)
Heroes
I have quite a few people I have tremendous respect for, but I'm not sure I'd call any of them "heroes". "Hero" is a rather... loaded word, if I can say so. It connotates something that I'm afraid few, if any, of us are ever capable of living up to. We're all human, for crying out loud, and so often people that are looked at as heroes are treated as being more than human. So, do I have heroes? No, not really. But I have people I respect. And that's good enough for me.

About me:
For more information about me, go to my personal site at http://www.angelfire.com/cantina/thedemesne (MySpace doesn't seem to allow links to Angelfire from the profile page, but will from my blog here. Go figure).

Who I'd like to meet:
People with a good taste in music (you can determine what I mean for that by looking at the Music section to the left or by visiting the page for my former webradio station), and a willingness to debate when they disagree with me - not argue, but debate. There is a distinct line between debate and arguing and too many people get it confused. I may not always see eye-to-eye with you, but I'm willing to let you have your position. Just let me have mine.
