  • Influences

Like all groups we have many diverse influences. Our band name reflects that combination of influences coming together. Æthyrus is the place where all things become one. Ærynn comes from a musical background of Jazz, Blues, Folk and even Country, with a lot of classical vocal training as well. Her music is influenced mostly by how she feels, and what she sees around her. Athonwy's influences are primarily Hard rock/Heavy metal, such as The Sisters Of Mercy and The Tea Party, but also Goth, Hardcore and Funk.

People who have been to our shows compare us to Portishead, The Cranberries, Mazzy Star, The Smashing Pumpkins...but our sound is a constantly evolving thing (ssshhhh......don't tell the religious people we're evolving, they might ban us :) Our sound tends toward a dark melodic rock, but we like to keep our audience guessing... .. .. ..'Returning' live at Kope Kope, featuring Jasmine Miranda Crowe on violin.... .. .. .. .. ..

Just dropping by to let you know that I have a new album out entitled 'Anitya.'  It is currently available for download from Amazon.com.  It is album consisting of ten acoustic folk rock songs with traditional east asian influences.  It centers around the idea of anitya or impermanence in Buddhism, and the interaction between failure and ideals.  So take some time and enjoy the new songs!
