Like all groups we have many diverse influences. Our band name reflects that combination of influences coming together. Æthyrus is the place where all things become one. Ærynn comes from a musical background of Jazz, Blues, Folk and even Country, with a lot of classical vocal training as well. Her music is influenced mostly by how she feels, and what she sees around her. Athonwy's influences are primarily Hard rock/Heavy metal, such as The Sisters Of Mercy and The Tea Party, but also Goth, Hardcore and Funk.
Sounds Like
People who have been to our shows compare us to Portishead, The Cranberries, Mazzy Star, The Smashing Pumpkins...but our sound is a constantly evolving thing (ssshhhh......don't tell the religious people we're evolving, they might ban us :) Our sound tends toward a dark melodic rock, but we like to keep our audience guessing.
