Welkom op de myspace van AFA-Nederland. Zoals je misschien wel weet strijd AFA tegen racisme, fascisme, seksisme, homofobie en proberen wij verrechtsend overheidsbeleid aan de kaak te stellen.
Vanwege het werk dat wij doen hebben bepaalde rechts-extremistische types een hekel aan antifascisten, als je dus een vriend van ons word via myspace zou het kunnen zijn dat er op een gegeven moment een rechts-extremist op je myspace rond gaat snuffelen. Er zijn op internet verschillende extreem-rechtse fora waar, veelal op een bizar slechte manier, informatie over antifascisten word verzameld. Dus denk voordat je vrienden van ons wordt goed na over je eigen myspace: staat er informatie op over jezelf? Is je myspace afgeschermd? staan er foto's van jezelf of van vrienden op? Of misschien maakt het je allemaal niet zoveel uit maar denk er in ieder geval over na want wij vertrouwen rechts-extremisten niet en raden je aan dat ook niet te doen.
We willen natuurlijk graag dat je een vriend van ons wordt maar we willen je wel vertellen dat internet heel ondoorzichtig is en dat je beter voorzichtig met prive-informatie om kan gaan.
Wat is AFA?
Anti Fascistische Actie (AFA) is een landelijk netwerk van lokale groepen en contacten. AFA werd in 1992 opgericht, naar aanleiding van de groei die georganiseerd extreemrechts toen doormaakte. Sindsdien heeft AFA zich ten doel gesteld racistische en fascistische partijen, groeperingen en tendensen te bestrijden en racistisch en verrechtsend overheidsbeleid aan de kaak te stellen.
Om extreemrechts en verrechtsend overheidsbeleid te bestrijden ondernemen wij actie. Dat doen we bijvoorbeeld in de vorm van een demonstratie, een blokkade, het verspreiden van flyers om mensen te informeren, het plakken van posters en het ondersteunen van andere organisaties. Ook geven we voorlichting aan bijvoorbeeld scholen of pers, geven we het tijdschrift Alert! uit en geven we informatiekranten uit. Daarnaast doen we onderzoek naar extreemrechts.
Om op de hoogte te blijven van de activiteiten van AFA kun je je aanmelden voor onze sympathisantenlijst. Je ontvangt dan onze persberichten, actieaankondigingen en overige mededelingen. Ook kun je ons helpen door deze brochure of ander AFA-materiaal te verspreiden bij jou in de buurt of door een abonnement te nemen op de Alert! Dus neem contact met ons op en doe mee.

What is AFA?
AFA strives to combat racist, extreme right-wing, neo-nazi and neo-fascist groups, parties and tendencies. The extreme right abuse their freedom of speech to discriminate against people and groups and incorrectly accuses these people of being the cause of social problems. Extreme right-wing organisations and political parties always propose false solutions for social problems. For example, they use nationalistic or racial solution for issues such as migration, population composition, job opportunities and crime. They attempt to create a schism in society. The extreme right tries to destabilise society and incite -sometimes subtly - racial hatred and violence against ethnic groups. Right-wing extremism also makes the entire political climate more right-wing when established political parties adopt extreme right-wing points of view so as not to lose any votes instead of combating and refuting prejudice and racism.
In order to combat the political shift right and extreme right-wing activity AFA undertakes actions. This can be in the guise of a demonstration, a blockade, the dissemination of flyers in order to inform people, flyposting and the support of other organisations. We also provide information to schools and the press, publish the Alert! magazine and issue informational brochures. Furthermore, we investigate the extreme right.
