Affectus released an amazing album "Anathema" and is working on a new album with their incredible new sound that will surely amaze everyone. It would be hard to make an album even close to as good as the last, much less better, but it is happening!!! The new sound is positive and modern, and they are so excited for everyone to hear it. Affectus is better than ever!!! Affectus is a band comprised of members from the Arkansas River Valley area that have been cutting their teeth in the local music scene for the better part of a decade. Founding members have been earning their stripes with several local acts since their early high school years. Each member of the band has been honing their craft since the ages of 13 to 15 years old. The name Affectus is derived from the Latin word meaning “emotion,” “disposition of mind,” or “to affect.” That sums up the goal of the band, which is not to simply just put on a good show, but to tug at every human emotion and offer an unforgettable experience that could truly change a life. The music is a unique blend of Modern Rock with passionate and beautiful vocals, innovative drums, vigorous bass, dynamic and raging guitars, and intoxicating harmonies. The group is capable of playing the best events and venues, and they can please any crowd. Affectus is a self-sufficient, self promoting band that has performed several stages and events. They were the winners of the Arkansas Tech University 2006 Battle of the Bands. As winners of the battle, Affectus performed an unforgettable concert at Arkansas Tech’s Tucker Coliseum. Affectus has also played several amazing shows on the University of the Ozarks campus, Juanitas, The Rev Room, The Assay Office, The Supper Club, Front St Grill, and Vinos Brewpub.
