Formed in Early 2006 Afghan Banana Stand has fast become one of Maine's premier punk bands. Their influences include the likes of NOFX, Nirvana, Sublime and Bloodhound Gang to name a few. In 2007 they self financed their debut EP Brazilian Bikini Tan which has been played on numerous radio stations in Maine and the college station WPTC in Pennsylvania . They have shared the stage with bands such as Streetlight Manifesto, USA Waste, The Jonee Earthquake Band, Big Meat Hammer and Piracy. They have played shows throughout Maine and as far away as Pennsylvania. A new EP titled DROP! was released for the summer 2008 Tour, with the band working on finalizing their full length debut by the end of the summer. The band has been in its present incarnation for three years with Vint Whitcomb on Vocals, Paul Staples on Guitar, Aaron Mitchell on Bass and Austin Turner on Drums.
