Afghan Banana Stand formed in Belfast, ME. They have been playing their mix of ‘snotty, hyper ska-punk’ influenced by bands such as NOFX, Descendents and Nirvana throughout New England since early 2006. They have released 2 EP’s and a full length album 'Afghan Banana Stand vs Kanye West' which is now available at Bullmoose locations in Bangor and at Wild Rufus Records in Camden. It is also available online through Crack Rock Records. The band has retained its core lineup since its first show in 2006 with Vint Whitcomb on Vocals and Guitar, Paul staples on Lead Guitar, Aaron Mitchell on Bass and Vocals and Austin Turner on Drums.
In March 2009 the song 'Mass Pike' was included on the new Jonee Earthquake 'Seasick Pirate' single.
On January 2, 2009 Afghan Banana Stand released their first full length
