How dreampop sounded in the late 80's and how J.Mascis and Kevin Shields use their guitars are the biggest influences for the sound of Afraid of Stairs. But these are just some of the many typical influences for some who were young males in the early 90's. Our taste in music and what we are influenced by has expanded beyond just what we listened to when we were in our teens.
