While his name is ridiculous, you can believe that he brings a unique skill set to the indie-hip-hop table. With a fresh delivery and unique presentation, African-American Zombie Lawyer aka DUB-AZL, has begun to infect the darkest corners of the underground music scene. AAZL is not scared to speak his mind and isn't afraid of expressing his deepest, weirdest thoughts in his songs. He can make a joke song with the best of them but isn't above releasing intellectual, thought-based hip-hop songs. Gaining recognition from signature songs like "Donkey Kong" and releasing 5 studio albums in about a year's time has garnered him a whole new level of attention and respect from all the right places. And has helped him to establish his own ASCAP publishing company in "Hip-Hop Is Dead Alive".
Recently picked up by legendary hip-hop stalwart C-Rayz Walz (of undefeated freestyle championship notoriety, Wu-Tang Clan affiliation and MTV's 'Made' fame) for "Circle City, Vol. 1", a mixtape set to be released everywhere in stores in March 2010, African-American Zombie Lawyer has made a strong statement in a cloudy, watered down Midwestern hip-hop scene and that is: "Hip-Hop Is Dead Alive!" He has also appeared on the prelude mixtape to "Circle City, Vol. 1", entitled "Naptown: The Broken Comb Mixtape", doing a song with C-Rayz Walz called 'It's Always Sunny On The Interweb' and appearing alongside artists like the renowned Indiana group Mystery School and another legend in his own right, hip-hop pillar Canibus. While getting positive reviews from C-Rayz Walz and several others, he has also received positive reviews from best-selling author Scott Kenemore, responsible for hit books 'The Zen Of Zombie' and 'Z.E.O.' His list of friends is long and he has worked with musicians and bands from varying areas all over the map of music including renowned rock-n-roll act Foxy Shazam, metal mainstays Heavy Heavy Low Low, and spazcore duo Yip-Yip all the way to C-Rayz Walz and underground sensations Emcee Supermax and KayWhy.
