Founded in 1997, Africasgateway.com is one of Africa's largest urban youth orientated
portal. It initially started out focusing primarily on African hip hop but
expanded in the past few years to cover hip hop globally. The site features a very active forum, hip hop blogs aggregator, mp3 downloads, music uploads,
reviews, link directory and new features are constantly added. The site
has gone through a lot of changes over the past couple of years. In 2006
and beyond and site relies heavily on it's users. The people of
Africasgateway are the ones we appreciate the most for keeping the site alive.
We are just one of the many contributors to the African hip hop scene, there are
many others who laid the foundation, including but not limited to Juma4's
Africanhiphop.com, hiphop.co.za, Bush Radio, Shamiel X, Rozzano X, Emile Yx and
his magazine Da Juice, Black Noise, POC, Hype Magazine, plus many others who
command respect for their contributions to the scene here in Africa. Many
of our members have gone on to do great things in the world however there is not
enough space here to mention all of them. But you know who you are.
