Die Afrika Kulturtage 2009 sind schon wieder vorbei: Adesa aus Ghana, Sarah Ndagire aus Uganda, Djekafo aus Burkina Faso/Indien/D, der Geschichtenerzähler Tormenta Jobarteh, die "Löwenstarken Trommler" Habib & Amadou, Yuba & Abdel Illah Hajim aus Marokko, der Gospelchor Mambalo und Sängerin Maria de Barros haben das Publikum mehr als begeistert. Und: es blieb alle drei Tage trocken, obwohl es rund um Forchheim ganz viel geregnet hat! Der Bayerische Rundfunk sendete live vom Festival und knapp 10.000 Besucher genossen die familiäre Atmosphäre mit diesem besonderen Afrikaflair in der Kaiserpfalz.

Im altehrwürdigen Gebäude der Kaiserpfalz in 91301 Forchheim (www.forchheim.de - an der A73 zwischen Erlangen & Bamberg) entstand erstmals im Juli 2007 eine Brücke zum Verständnis anderer „alter Kulturen“ aus Afrika. Diese ist trotz hohem Anspruch unterhaltsam und spricht alle Sinne der Besucher an. Weitere Fotos vom Festival gibt's auf unserer website! Neben spannenden Ausstellungen zu afrikanischen Kulturen im Museum (in Zusammenarbeit mit dem IWALEWA-Haus http://www.iwalewa.uni-bayreuth.de/ in Bayreuth), Einblicken in die afrikanische Literatur (Said Khamis/Tansania, Akinyi Prinzessin von K'Orinda-Yimbo/Kenia) und Konzerten mit international bekannten Künstlern (u.a. Sally Nyolo, Sokan, Coco Mbassi, Gangbe Brass Band, Argile, Stella Chiweshe, Tormenta Jobarteh) mit Schwerpunkt auf akustischen Instrumenten und in der Hauptsache traditioneller afrikanischer Musik und spannenden interkulturellen Begegnungen (renommierte Künstler, die durch KORA-Award, European Worldmusic-Charts und Funk und TV bekannt sind),

Essen aus Süd-, Ost, West- und Nordafrika, afrikanische Frisuren am eigenen Kopf ausprobieren, einem Geschichtenerzähler bei einem Glas Pfefferminztee lauschen, exotische Gewürze und Rezepte probieren, ideenreich hergestelltes Kinderspielzeug aus Recycling-Blechdosen bestaunen u.v.a.m.
