It's like this. There's nuff good music out there and there's just slightly more shit music floating around too. The purpose of this project is two fold, firstly we wanted to make the kind of music we love influenced by everything we've ever heard and been touched by, while simultaneously undermining anything shit that presents itself as good. The terms 'good' or 'great' no longer mean anything due to so many creators of shitness using these descriptive words to lord there own poo. As a result the term 'not shit' was coined, by the Afrosaxon one evening at the point where he was called upon to sum up a particular session.
Secondly man must have jokes. It is written somewhere in small type that a man without jokes is nothing. This also applies to women. Visa vi AFROBEAR are on a continual quest to make each other laugh. Some of this translates into skits, Lines or actual tracks and all serves as joke food for two hungry men striving for something proper.
So. If you like music. In this case particularly hip-hop, then we hope to deliver something that will remind you of what it was made you like hip-hop in the first place. West Mildands born and bred but this ain't no dibby dibby UK thing. This is full planet rotating on it's own axis at 23 degrees music.
AFROBEAR are currently finishing their debut album 'Not Shit' and are due to perform up and down the country from March 2007. Check back every now and then for def dates and ideas. Hope you like the tracks. Thanks for passing through.
Safe.
I finally finished up a project I have been working on closely with my homie DJ Trippin' over the past few months. The idea was to take a handful of my freestyles, studio tracks, and b-sides I've recorded over the last year and combine them all to a 1 track mix. All mixing, scratching, and juggling was performed by DJ Trippin'. The effort is available for high quality download by clicking the cover below!
