Hello! Hello! Hello!

Welcome to my 'Afro Beat' Space.

'Afro Beat' is a radio programme that brings together the best traditional and contemporary music from Africa and from African musicians in the wider Diaspora.

Join me every Saturday morning between 7-10am (GMT) for a non-stop musical journey around Africa. We start off gently to get you in the mood. Then we then gradually crank up the pace and it’s “Dance! Dance! Dance!” between 9 and 10!

Travelling around Africa from Algeria to Zimbabwe, and taking in a wide variety of styles, ranging from Apala to Zouglou, Afro Beat features the best African music on the planet so you’d better get your dancing shoes on and shake your yansh!

On Afro Beat, we don’t just play music. Listen out for information of interest to Africans and “friends of Africa”, such as concert dates and African events. You can also enter our regular competitions to win great prizes on Afro Beat, including CDs, concert and event tickets and other memorabilia...
